Sigma Pi Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1996 at the University of California, Berkeley by nine women who saw the need to create a close network of Chicana- Latinas who want to make a difference in the communities starting with themselves. Sigma Pi Alpha addresses the academic, cultural, communal, and social needs of its sisters. The Beta Chapter in UC Riverside was established in the Spring of 2001, now we have new additions to the Sigma family which are the Gamma Chapter at UC Santa Cruz, Delta Chapter at San Francisco State University , the Epsilon Chapter at California State University in San Bernardino,the Zeta Chapter at UC Davis, and the Heta at California State University at Sacramento. Love is the strongest tie between our sisterhood, there will be more additions to this family in the future and they will be received with all of our love!
