HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
- HyperText Transfer Protocol is the set of rules by which an HTML
document is transferred over the Web.
- The World Wide Web (the Web or WWW) was created in 1989 at the
European Particle Physics Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland, as a method
for incorporating footnotes, figures, and cross-references into online
hypertext documents, using a protocol known as the HyperText Transfer
Protocol (HTTP).
- HTTP uses Internet addresses in a special format, called a Uniform
Resource Locater (URL).
- HTTP is used for Web page request.
- Its controls the way information is shared.
