Introduction:
Lise Bradbury and Eljaes Shih Tzu are located in the Bayside area of Melbourne. I love my family of Shih Tzus with a passion.
I am actively involved with my local breed club & the Oriental Breeds Association. I am also a member of the ASTC.
If you are interested in purchasing a Shih Tzu or would like more information about my dogs please e-mail me.
Please note my dogs are not offered at Public Stud and all puppies are sold as companion dogs only. I do not export any dogs and will not respond to such requests.
Please come meet my Shih Tzu family.
The Beginning:
Mozart was my first Shih Tzu and my beloved companion. He was not a showdog but he taught me the unconditional love that a Shih Tzu gives is truly a gift from God. Mozart went to the Rainbow Bridge 3/4/98. He was bred by a responsible breeder and his loss has made me keenly aware of the need to screen breeding stock with care. I miss him terribly.
Mozart was followed by "Bubbles" (Ch. Chantrey Canadian Impe) and the black & white "Gidget" (Ch. Chantrey Autum Fashion). Gidget titled easily & is the dam of Rudi. She was known as the black rat of Eljaes & ruler of the roost. She is now at the Rainbow Bridge. "Ace" (Ch. Mudan Ace O Spades) followed. He was bred by the late Sheila Fitzgerald & her husband Tom and was given as a gift. Sheila was a dedicated breeder and was most generous in sharing her knowledge.
Eljaes Shih Tzu are a legacy of her sound practices. Ace is a stunning dog and amassed many wins with me as a novice handler. He now is retired & a much loved pet, running the beaches & swimming in the Bay. "Gidget" was mated to Ch. Mudan Mr America and "Rudi", (Ch. Eljaes Regal Dancer) was the pick of the litter. He is a darling boy. Definitely my "number one son", possessing brains as well as beauty, winning the trophy for highest score in trial at my Obedience Club.
I then decided to find a wife for "Ace" and purchased "Darcy" (Ch. Zareba Mombassa), bred by the late Terry Hawkins. . "Tia", (Ch. Eljaes Isaballerina) was the only female in their litter and what a princess she is. "Tia" was a consistent show winner with highlights including being awarded Bitch CC at the Melbourne Royal and a Best In Show on a cold, windy day at Ballarat. Most of all, I love the way "Tia" gives you the "regal paw" when she wants a tummy rub. It is easy to see why Tia is known as "The Princess". Tia is now retired from showing & lives a charmed life as chief "car dog". Her son, Ch. Eljaes Tete A Tete (owned by Di O'Keefe) titled easily.
Ch. Kazamiro My Nakita came next. Fondly known as "Nikki", this darling wormed her way into my heart and my bed!! "Nikki" came to me out of coat as a boarder. When her previous owners' circumstances changed, she was too much a part of the family to leave. I showed her to her title with some nice wins along the way. She sleeps on the bed, under the covers in winter, hates birds with a passion & loves nothing better than a run along the beach.
Ch. Naichiu Western Woman arrived at Eljaes about the same time. "Nissa" was bred by my friend Carleen O'Donnell. She came to live with me aged 6 months & was a consistent winner, including Best In Show at the Shih Tzu Club Of Victoria Open Show & Best In Group, and Classes in Show at Championship Shows.
"Beau" (Ch. Eljaes White Knight) is "Rudi' & "Nikki's" son. He was an outstanding show dog and retired from showing in 2002. He too sleeps on my bed & has the most extensive range of canine outfits.
After "Beau", came Nissa's litter of four males to the American import, Multi BISS Ch. Xeralanes Magic Code. "Trey" began his show career in Darwin with Cindy Easterbrook & when Cindy & her family relocated to England, "Trey" took up residence there. He is a much loved family pet. The other brother, Ch. Eljaes Sir Galahad AKA "Andre" was shown by me. He won numerous class in Group & Show awards. He now lives happily in a loving pet home.
Then came "Smudgi" AKA Ch. Tylemor Tiara. "Smudgi" was bred by my dear friend Carol Morgan of Lithgow. "Smudgi" has a special place in my Mother's heart as she is a sensitive little soul.
She was followed by "Kissi" AKA Ch. Chantrey Ballerina Gold. "Kissi" was bred by Jean & Paul Anderson and carries some of the best bloodlines from Canada, USA & UK. She titled easily.
The Present:
I am presently showing Ch. Cardia Prinsessa Pazia AKA "Evie". Miss Evie started her show career with numerous Baby in Shows at Championship shows. She continued her winning ways into the Minor and Puppy classes with In Group & Show awards and has now matured into a lovely example of the breed. She is a loving companion and outstanding show dog. Sincere thanks to her breeder Di O'Keefe for her ongoing support and friendship. Evie attained her title with ease.
"Evie" is joined by Eljaes Exotic Jewel AKA 'Maya'. "Maya" is the newest addition to the Eljaes Family. Her breeding combines the very best of Cardia Kennels & Eljaes Shih Tzu & is the result of careful planning. She is a "Beau" daughter and reflects the friendship & partnership between Di O'Keefe & myself and our committment to breed genetically sound and aesthetically beautiful Shih Tzu of excellent temperament.
Thank you
Lise
