                                             REVIEW
The first version of the RGM-79 GM, the GM Ground Type incorporated many design features from the RX-79(G) Gundam Ground Type, and was more powerful than the final, low cost GM.  This figure is a faithful representation of the GM Sniper, a variant that is identical to the GM Ground Type and shares many parts with the RX-79(G) Gundam figure.  In fact, only the head, chest, backpack, skirt armor, and lower legs are different.  The accessories are nearly identical to the Gundam Ground Type also, with the 100mm machine gun having removeable spare ammo clips stored on the GM's skirt armor.  The 280mm cannon has been replaced with a beam sniper rifle, which was used with such lethal effieciency in the anime.  Each GM Sniper is individually numbered, with variants available numbered "01" through "09".  The Jet Core Booster rounds out the set, and is a beautifully detailed accessory with markings to match the figure.  Together these make an excellent figure.
Although the experimental RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type was serving well as a general-purpose ground combat unit, the Earth Federation Forces found themselves needing specialized units for specific mission roles. The first of a long line of GM variants was the RGM-79[G] GM Sniper, although in a sense it wasn't a variant at all. The mobile suit itself was exactly the same as the standard RGM-79[G], except it was painted in an olive drab paint scheme for camouflaging purposes. The various hand-carried standard weapons were replaced with a large, long-range beam rifle. This rifle mounted a high-powered scope, allowing the pilot to hit distant targets with pinpoint accuracy. However, the energy required to fire such a powerful shot was an amount that the GM's power generator couldn't produce, and the rifle was connected via cable to an external power supply and cooling system on a support vehicle. At least 3 RGM-79[G]s of the Kojima Batallion were outfitted as GM Snipers and were instrumental in the destruction of Zeon's experimental Apsalus III mobile armor during the One Year War.

The Jet Core Booster is the simplified, mass produced version of the FF-X7 Bst Core Booster.  No longer centered around a core block system, the Jet Core Booster still retains the basic design, although refined into a more aerodynamic body.  The canards have been enlarged, and the large booster tanks on the sides have been enclosed into fairings.  The twin cannons have been replaced by a vulcan cannon on the left side of the fuselage.  Also, a central hardpoint allows the Jet Core Booster to deliver high explosive bombs with precision accuracy.  Hundreds of these aircraft were used in the attack on Ghinias Sahalin's mountain research facility.
