Although Neo Japan created the GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam for use in the 13th Gundam Fight, they were also developing the Burning Gundam for use exclusively in the Finals. This new Gundam's ability levels were much higher than the Shining Gundam's, and its Hyper Mode made it the most powerful Gundam in the entire Gundam Fight. The Burning Gundam's armaments included the standard vulcan guns, two machinecannons and two beam sabers. Whereas the Shining Gundam had the Shining Finger as a finishing move, the Burning Gundam featured the more powerful Shining Burning Finger. The Burning Gundam featured several other signature attacks, which Domon designed while fighting his friends from the Shuffle Alliance. The Bushin Sapou Burning Shadow allowed Domon to split the Burning Gundam into several copies of itself to counter Chibodee Crocket's Gounetsu Machinegun Punch, and the spinning God Slash Typhoon countered George de Sand's Roses Hurricane. The fast-moving Burning Field Dash countered Argo Gulksii's Zakuretsu Gaea Crusher. The Bakunetsu Burning Slash used a beam saber and was a counter to the moves of assassin Kyral Mekirel. The most powerful of the Burning Gundam's attacks was the Sekiha Tenkyoken, the ultimate finishing move of the Toho Fuhai School of Martial Arts.
Though the Burning Gundam was supposed to be used only in the Finals, it was sent to Domon early during his battle with Master Asia and the JDG-00X Dark Gundam in South America's Guyana Highlands. It came just in time for Domon, as his Shining Gundam had been ruined in the battle. After arriving at the Gundam Fight Finals in Neo Hong Kong, Domon brashly pledged that he would defeat every Gundam Fighter just for a chance to fight Master Asia. Master Asia wanted Domon to become the core life unit for the resurrected Dark Gundam, so he and Wong Yun Fat arranged for Domon to fight the most powerful opponents as a form of training. Though the battles were difficult, Domon managed to keep his pledge and defeat every opponent. When the Battle Royale began on Lantao Island, Domon faced several old opponents before destroying the Dark Gundam. In the final battle of the 13th Gundam Fight, Domon defeated Master Asia and gained the title 'Gundam of Gundams' after Master Asia died. However, Ulube Ishikawa used Rain Mikamura to resurrect the Dark Gundam one last time, and Domon's Burning Gundam led the Shuffle Alliance assault on the Dark Gundam.

One of the most unique units seen during the 13th Gundam Fight was the mobile horse Fuunsaiki. In this mobile unit, Master Asia's horse Fuunsaiki used a horse-shaped mobile device complete with a Mobile Trace System. Master Asia used Fuunsaiki to make dramatic entrances with his GF13-001NHII Master Gundam. Fuunsaiki came with two modes: a mobile horse mode and a flying mode. Both modes were capable of flight and could escape the Earth's atmosphere. While Fuunsaiki's main armament consisted of a unicorn horn on his head, he could also use his rear legs for powerful kicks. Fuunsaiki first appeared when three of the JDG-00X Dark Gundam's Four Heavenly Kings attempted to stop Domon Kasshu from reaching the Gundam Fight Finals on time. Fuunsaiki then served as Master Asia's horse for the rest of the Finals. After Master Asia died, Fuunsaiki chose Domon as his new master and helped him escape the Earth's atmosphere to rescue Rain Mikamura from the Dark Gundam.
