| REVIEW The Hyper Mode Bolt Gundam is identical to the original Bolt Gundam figure, save for a two tone metallic gold paint scheme. The only real gimmicks it has are the ability to plug the gravition hammer ball onto the recess and peg on the left shoulder, and like most of the rest of the main MS in the G Gundam line, features a core lander that can be plugged into the figure's back. The overall detailing is nice, with simulated cabling under the armor at the elbow joints. Nothing about this figure really stands out, however. Overall a good figure. |
| Neo Russia's entry in the 13th Gundam Fight relies on raw power. In fact, the GF13-013NR Bolt Gundam was the second most powerful Gundam in the tournament in terms of raw power, second only to Neo Canada's GF13-037NCA Grizzly Gundam. Also, Gundam Fighter Argo Gulskii was an odd choice as a pilot, mainly because he was a convicted criminal and former space pirate. His criminal past is something he was forced to confront in the present, as Neo Canada's Gundam Fighter Andrew Graham blamed Argo for the death of his wife Norma. Five years earlier, Argo's spaceship crashed into a space station the Grahams were working on. Despite Argo's efforts to save her, Norma was sucked out into space and lost. After this Graham developed an intense hatred for Argo and became Neo Canada's Gundam Fighter simply so that he could kill Argo. While the Bolt Gundam was very powerful, at first the government of Neo Russia wouldn't allow Argo to even fight. In an ingenious tactic they would draw Gundam Fighters to Neo Russia for a fight and then detain them in prison for the rest of their lives. In this manner they could eliminate their competition and get into the Finals without even fighting. This technique was used until Argo fought against Domon Kasshu and his GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam. The Bolt Gundam's main armament consisted of four head-mounted vulcan guns and one Graviton hammer for close range attacks. Like the rest of the Shuffle Alliance, Argo trained in the Guyana Highlands and developed a Hyper Mode and a new final move: the Zakaretsu Gaia Crusher. This powerful attack could make the ground spike up to either surround an enemy or impale him. Despite a draw with Domon, Argo qualified for the Finals and Battle Royale and participated in the final battle against the JDG-00X Dark Gundam. Pilot: Argo Gulskii Appearances: Mobile Fighter G Gundam; Mobile Fighter G Gundam (manga); Gundam Battle Assault 2 (PS1) Original mechanical designer: Kunio Okawara |
