| REVIEW The cannon fodder for the G Gundam series, the Dark Army is nonetheless an excellent figure. It features version 1.0 articulation, but still has good poseability. The detailing is good given the sparse look of the original animated version. The Dark Army gets most of its points from the accessories, which include a machine gun that doubles as a club, a long cannon, and the Dark Beast legs. The Dark Beast is actually a variant of the Dark Army, and the figure is transformed into this menacing mobile suit by means of an intricate conversion. The end result is a large 4 legged mobile suit that towers over others figures. In all the Dark Army is an excellent figure. |
| When the city of Tokyo was attacked by a mysterious mobile suit army in FC 60, Domon Kasshu and partner Rain Mikamura were sent to investigate the situation. What they found was a Tokyo left in ruins and hordes of mobile suits called the Dark Army. Further investigation revealed that the Dark Army suits were created by the JDG-00X Dark Gundam that Domon was pursuing. The Dark Army suits were mass produced by the Dark Gundam's DG cells, which contained the properties of self-evolution and self-repair created by Dr. Kasshu. Even stranger was the fact that the Dark Army suits were piloted by corpses reanimated by DG cells. The Dark Army suits carried the fairly standard armament of a machinegun, but their advantage was that they worked together in large groups. As discovered by Domon and Master Asia, when one Dark Army suit was in danger it could call for reinforcements that would come in hordes. It was later discovered that the Dark Army suits were merely a defense system for the Dark Gundam, which was nesting and evolving underneath Tokyo. A variation on the Dark Army design, the Dark Beast was basically the same suit but in a four-legged spider-like type.
