HENRY R. HARRIS |

(1828 - 1909)
|
|
|
|
Graduated at Emory College in 1847, thereafter engaged in planting. He was a member of the Georgia convention in 1861; was elected to Congress as a Democrat in 1872; was twice reelected and in 1884 was again chosen to represent his district in the lower branch of the national legislature. Upon the expiration of his last term he retired to his plantation in Meriwether county.
