My alarm went off -- it was Sunday
again; I was tired -- it was my one day to sleep in. But the guilt I'd have felt the rest
of the day I showered and shaved, adjusted suit
and tie, Bowing my head in humble prayer With plenty of room on either side, Then the prayer began: "Heavenly
Father," someone said-- "Thank You for blessings,"
the prayer went on. Aren't we supposed to look our best
when walking through that door? Then the prayer ended and songs of
praise began. Then the offering was passed; what I
threw in was steep. The sermon bored me to tears--And no
lie-- At the end of the service, as is
custom here, He was old, his skin dark, his hair a
mess. He said, "My name's Charlie,
glad to meet you, my friend," "Let me explain," he said,
wiping his eyes. My heart fell to my knees, but I held
back my tears, I was silent for a moment knowing
anything I said "Oh, you've touched me," I
said. "And taught me, in part, The rest, I thought, this man will
never know. . .

Music: " Everynight" === I got it from a funpage sent to me by a friend.
*** Origin *** This story was sent to me by my friend, Rhea, through email. The story moved me as every time I read inspirational things like this one. It is very nice and it calms the mind. It soothes the heart that is why I want to share this also to all of the people created by God. This time, I know I am making something right. Sharing this is not a bad idea anyway. I always feel light whenever I read these kinds of stories. It is as if I forget my problems even though I have lots of it. In Reflection... Why the shoes? The title is very figurative... as for me. I thought of it like "placing yourself" on the side or the situation of the other. The most common characters are, always, the rich and the poor. Generally, we think that rich people are always disgusted with the "greasy" poor people. That is if the rich one is very meticulous and very...egoistic... as if unreachable. But our poor brothers are not very disgusting anyway! They too are creations of the Almighty God. They were never disgusted with the rich so why should the rich be disgusted? This then teaches us that we should try to be emphatic. Let us try to place ourselves in the situation of the others...those that we compare. Let us think, "what if I was the one in his place, what would I feel." DO you want it that other people are dismayed? That they are always disgusted with how you look physically? That they are just judgmental even though they do not know who you really are? A lesson then included here is that, " we must do unto others what we do not want them to do unto us ." That is a very popular saying by the Great Teacher CONFUCIUS. Master Kong is indeed very influential. For the Chinese, he is like GOD, their master. But for us, he is different and God is different. But they both have the same lessons. Let us not do to others what we do not want them to do unto us. Think deeper and mind it that if you are in his position, would you feel the same?
