The chilling voice of Jim Jones that led into Concrete Blonde's "Jonestown" played behind various solemn clips of The Cult Master speaking at The Cult's "Holy Chapel". As the song began those clips began to include other EWI superstars, those who had been involved in the long, arduous journey on the championship trail leading into tonight. Featured heavily in the video were the defending champions - Benjamin Childs, Heavy D, Lance Stanton, and The Daemon Knight, as well as clips of events leading up to their respective title defenses tonight; Childs' loss to Black Jack McBain several weeks previous to determine the number one contender to the universal title, as well as the controversial Childs vs. Prophet match from the most recent Collision; Heavy D attacking Virus Richards during a match against Mr. Beumont; Psychotic Sam and The Joker's Childs ambushing Harbinger and The Destroyer with baseball bats, even an old CWA clip of Sam battling Nick Sinister, leader of The Crimson Guild of which Lance Stanton and Daemon Knight are members. As the video concluded, the shot quickly cut to inside the Arco Arena in Sacramento, and with a loud bang and a flash of blue, green, and white pyro, the EWI Blaze of Glory took to the air. The arena was packed with several thousand rabid wrestling fans, waving signs and banners and cheering as loud as they can throughout the impressive opening display. As the noise dies down and the smoke begins to clear, the faces of play-by-play announcer Blake Underwood and color commentator, for possibly the last time, Adam Kogler, who were at ringside to call the night's action, appeared on the video screen and televisions across the world.

Underwood: Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is the night! Welcome to EWI Blaze of Glory; I'm Blake Underwood alongside Adam Kogler and yes, the big night that we have been awaiting with baited breath for the past several weeks since the big announcement from Commissioner Owens has finally arrived. Tonight is the King of Kings match for the EWI world title. This is the match that the entire roster has been clammoring to be a part of for weeks and weeks, and tonight we're finally going to see it happen. Five champions in the ring at one time, but only one man will emerge as the undisputed best in the business today.

Kogler: Oh man, you'd better believe that the Greatest Mind in Wrestling is jacked up and ready to go for this one! Not only are you going to see every EWI Title defended tonight, you're going to see whoever comes out of those matches with the belts tie it up again at the end of the night! And the EWI World Title's on the line; that's two World Title matches for the price of one! But for once, instead of gracing you with my usual troves of wisdom as far as tonight's matches are concerned, I'm handing it back to you, Underwood, because I want to get this show started!

Underwood: For once I actually agree with you Adam, I can't wait to get things underway, and what a way to kick things off. Not only is the EWI world title on the line in our opening contest, but we are about to see one of the most heated rivalries in professional wrestling history unfold right between our very eyes as The Cult Master defends the championship against Captain Patrick O'Conner. This is a war that reaches back more than three years, and with The Cult Master's recent visitation to the grave of the Captain's deceased wife Paulina, I don't think the bad blood between these two has ever run any stronger than it does right now. We're set to go here at Blaze of Glory, and the world title is on the line!

Captain Patrick O'Conner

*****

Captain Patrick O'Conner made his entrance to his usual music, "I Will Find You," but on this night, the proceedings had a special air to them. The lights went down as the first strains of the song flowed over the speakers. After a moment, a lone spotlight shone down upon the Captain at the foot of the entranceway, illuminating his trademark Black Watch plaid kilt, his boots polished to a brilliant military gleam and his face painted in the traditional Celtic warrior fashion. O'Conner made his way to the ring in a slow purposeful manner, his face set in an almost murderous glare. The Captain knew that this match had been a long time coming, and was determined to exact his toll. Suddenly, as O'Conner was halfway down the aisle, The Cult Master's elaborate entrance began. O'Connor quickly turned, and from his makeshift throne carried by his minions, the EWI world champion jumped off and dove at his challenger! The crowd roared as the arch enemies exchanged frantic blows while making their way toward the ring. The Cult Master's element of surprise gave him the early advantage, as he took over on the Captain and rolled him into the ring, then followed him in to begin the championship match. Cult Master removed his ceremonial robe, and with a look of indescribable hatred, continued to rain blows upon his challenger within the confines of the ring, then yanked him up and whipped him toward the ropes, but O'Conner was able to shift his weight, pull the champion back, and send him into the turnbuckles. Immediately, the Captain ran in with an avalanche to stun the self-proclaimed deity, then dropped him to the mat with a DDT. The fans cheered as Patrick O'Conner removed his kilt with purpose and tossed it aside. O'Conner grabbed Cult Master from the corner and whipped him into the ropes, but The Cult Master came off with a flying forearm that caught the Captain off guard. A smattering of the champion's trademark European uppercuts kept O'Conner on the defensive and backed him into the corner. The Cult Master buried a succession of knees into the Captain's midsection, then took him out of the corner and to the mat with a belly to-belly suplex. He went for the pinfall, getting a two count. Cult Master choked O'Conner into the canvas, before attempting another fall, but Captain O'Conner kicked out even quicker this time. Frustrated, he then began smashing O'Connor's head repeatedly into the canvas, screaming that the "banshee will die tonight." The referee backed off The Cult Master, so the champ pulled up O'Conner by the arm. O'Conner grabbed his adversary's arm and turned it into an armbar takedown. The mortal enemies got their feet, with Cult Master charging the Captain, but O'Conner took him back to the mat with a hiptoss. Cult Master was able to get up, but Captain O'Conner stayed on him, delivering a flurry of punches to the head and shoulders, then whipping Cult Master into the ropes. On the return, O'Conner took him over with a double underhook suplex. A cover got him 2, so the Captain continued his offense. He hooked Cult Master's arm once more, and hooked a kick right into his midsection. O'Conner dropped an elbow and got another two count. The Captain allowed his opponent to slowly reach his feet, but then wasted no motion in taking him over with a belly to-back suplex. The crowd roared its approval, knowing full well that Captain Patrick O'Conner's series of suplexes more often than not lead to the end for his opponents. The Captain maintained the waistlock, and took the world champion over for a second time. He moves slower now, but O'Conner still held Cult Master by the waist. He hoisted up, but was taken down with a reverse Russian legsweep from Cult Master. The two icons lay on the mat for a referee's eight count, until they both shook off the toll of battle, got to their feet, and continued the match. They exchanged punches as passionately as they have in battles of the past, until Cult Master ducked one, and dropped O'Conner with a DDT. From there, the leader of the Cult jumped on him, pulling his legs back and locking in a Boston Crab. The Cult Master reared back, but O'Conner slowly but surely lifted himself off the mat, a look of determination on his face ... but the pain was too much; he collapsed back down. The crowd was louder than before, egging the legend on, and indeed, the Captain made a slow crawl to the ropes. The Cult Master pulled him back toward center ring, but the Captain would not have it, he thrust with all his might and kicked out of the move. With O'Conner still down, Cult Master used the ropes to pull himself up, then climbed to the second turnbuckle. He jumped off with an axehandle, but the Captain buried a fist into his midsection. With the champion hunched over, O'Conner regained full verticality and furiously buried rights and lefts into The Cult Master. He finished the sequence with a judo throw, lifted up his enemy, and took him over with a German suplex, holding it for a pin attempt, the ref counted to two and a half before The Cult Master raised an arm and the crowd collectively gasped. Without hesitation, Patrick O'Conner pulled his opponent up, and whipped him into the turnbuckles. The Captain charged in, but was met with a boot from the champion. The Cult Master reversed O'Conner into the turnbuckles, and rapidly buried a series of shoulderblocks into his opponent. And then, he lifted the Captain to the top turnbuckle and followed him up ... hooked the leg ... but Captain O'Conner blocked the Final Prayer! The Cult Master tried again, but to no avail, and O'Conner attempted to reverse the move high above the ring! At long last, O'Conner got The Cult Master into position for his own version of the champion's finisher, but as he lifted, Cult Master shifted his weight at the last moment, and both men landed awkwardly on the canvas; The Cult Master getting the best of the situation, he landed on top, his feet ended up draped on the ropes, and the referee counted to three! Captain O'Conner kicked out a second too late, and it was The Cult Master who won the epic battle on this night, allowing him to take his world title into the King of Kings.

Underwood: Damn it! Oh I tell you I thought O'Conner had it. He blocked the Final Prayer twice, and I was certain we were going to see a new world champion crowned. But somehow, some way, The Cult Master retains, and he'll go on to the King of Kings match later tonight. This has to be a huge disappointment for Captain O'Conner.

Kogler: You know Underwood, as much as I can't stand the guy, I have to admit that I thought all the religious mumbo jumbo and past memories just might be enough to propel O'Conner to glory one more time here at Blaze Of Glory. But it looks like old Pegleg's night is cut a bit short thanks to his most hated foe! The Cult Master keeps the gold and heads for the King of Kings match, but all in all, that was one hell of a battle!

Underwood: That it was, and I'm sure we have not seen the last of this war between these two men. O'Conner and The Cult Master can not co-exist in the same federation, we have seen that before, and I'm sure as I'm sure that I'm sitting here in front of you tonight that there will be another day for these two men to square off inside the ring. We go now from that wild world championship match to another title match; that's right, they don't stop coming here at Blaze of Glory as the tag team championship is about to be decided. A number of excellent teams have competed for these spots over the past few weeks, including Harbinger & The Destroyer and McBain & Achica, but tonight it comes down to The Crimson Guild against The Family, with the winners moving on to join The Cult Master in the prestigious King of Kings match.

As Psychotic Sam and The Joker's Child waited in the ring, "Kashmir" blasted over the loudspeakers as the fans began to boo vigorously. Lance Stanton emerged first from the back, bearing his usual cocky smile and his tag title slung over his shoulder. Daemon Knight followed from behind, catching up to his tag partner to walk side by side with him, in a show of unity. Behind them walked a made-over Page, who wore a red pvc top and shirt, with black fishnet covering her legs and arms, as well as a red ankh that was tattooed over her right eye. Stanton and Knight got into the ring and discussed some things before having Stanton start off against The Joker's Child. The two locked up, and Stanton quickly hit an armdrag takedown followed by an armbar and a DDT. He picked the Joker's Child up and threw him into the ropes, connecting with a spinning heel kick as Joker came off. Stanton followed it up with a legdrop. He picked the clown up and tagged Knight, holding him so that Knight could connect with a mafia kick to the face. He then picked JC up and whipped him into the ropes, hitting a release spinebuster. He picked JC up once more, lifting him high in the air in a military press. He then dropped the clown to the mat and then tagged in Stanton. Knight lifted Joker's Child onto his shoulders, so that Stanton could dropkick Child's off of his shoulders! Stanton picked the Joker up, but the clown poked his thumb in Stanton's eye, distracting him long enough to tag in Psychotic Sam. Sam went on a rampage, knocking Stanton down and Knight soon thereafter. Sam picked Stanton up and backed him into the corner, nailing him with several punches. As this was happening, Harbinger and The Destroyer came out of the back, The Destroyer weilding a chair covered in barbed-wire. While Harbinger distracted the referee, The Destroyer rolled into the ring, reached back, and nailed Sam over the head with the lethal chair! The Destroyer then grabbed Stanton and threw him down onto Sam before rolling out of the ring and going after Joker's Child. Harbinger joined The Destroyer in the beat down, directing the ref's attentions back into the ring, where he saw Stanton pinning Sam. The ref dropped down and counted 1....2....3 to give The Crimson Guild the win. Harbinger and The Destroyer stalked to the back as Stanton, Knight, and Page looked on from the ring, a confused look on their faces.

Underwood: Lance Stanton and The Daemon Knight retain, and they'll be back later on tonight in the King of Kings match.

Kogler: The World Title match we saw earlier could have gone either way, but I'd have to call this one as somewhat of an upset. The Joker's Child may barely have control of his nutty buddy, and the whole Family may be a little out there, but a relatively new team like The Crimson Guild taking it to the ring veterans like that? I don't say this very often, but I'm impressed!

Underwood: Of course let's not forget the Cult's involvement in this match. I wonder if they weren't sent out here with the intention of keeping Sam and Joker, like you said two ring veterans and Sam himself a former world champion, out of the King of Kings match. The Cult Master is in, and I'm sure his followers would love to see their leader take the easiest road to victory possible later on tonight. That's not a knock on Lance Stanton or The Daemon Knight, but they are not experienced and, I would have to say, not the threat to the world championship that Psychotic Sam or The Joker's Child could be if they're on top of their game. Regardless, that won't be an issue as Stanton and the Knight have advanced, and with 3/5 of the title picture already set for later on we take you to another tag team match, this time to be contested under elimination rules as Charles Childs and Jaden take on The Mental Brothers, with a shot at the tag team titles possibly in the future for whichever team can pull out a victory here live in Sacramento at Blaze of Glory.

ELIMINATION MATCH
The Mental Brothers
(Larry & Jerry)
~VS.~
Jaden &
Charles Childs

*****

As Charles Childs and Jaden waited in the ring, "Orgallo" blasted through the loudspeakers as Larry and Jerry Mental burst out of the back and ran to the ring. The duo slid under the ropes and were met with dropkicks from both Childs and Jaden. Larry and Jerry both shot to their feet, but both were whipped into the ropes. Jerry came off and hit a flying clothesline on Jaden, and Larry ducked under a superkick from Childs, turned, and applied a sleeper hold. Jaden shot up and began brawling with Jerry, so much so that they fell out of the ring. Meanwhile, Childs flung Larry over his shoulder and hit an elbow drop to the man. He then picked Larry up and hit a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on the man. Jaden, meanwhile, had gotten the advantage on the outside and slid back into the ring. Charles and Jaden flung Larry into the ropes and hit a double-dropkick as he came off the ropes. Just then, a man recognizable as Riot from the OWA ran down to the ring area and distracted Charles and Jaden, flinging a cactus into the ring. This gave Jerry an opening, as he slid into the ring and rolled up Jaden, pinning him and leaving Charles all on his own. Riot left as soon as he came, as he was chased to the back by an angry Jaden, and now it was down to the two Mental Brothers against Charles Childs. Larry charged Childs, but Charles ducked, sending him over the top rope and hard to the floor. Childs and Jerry then went at it, trading left and rights, before Childs hit a boot to his midestion and grabbed him and sent him over with a fisherman's suplex. Jerry kicked mightily, but was unable to kick out, and was eliminated with a three count. Just then, however, as Jerry Mental made his way to the back, Larry came in and attacked Charles, who was just rising to his feet. After a few punches he sent Childs into the ropes, hitting a back-body drop as he came off. Larry then mounted Childs, landing a flurry of punches before getting up and motioning to the crowd, who booed heavily. Mental even went so far as to go to the second turnbuckle to cheer himself on to the crowd, but this gave Childs the opening he needed. Getting up, he charged the unaware Mental Brother and climbed to the second turnbuckle with his opponent, grabbed Larry's head, and hit a devastating tornado DDT off the second turnbuckle! Childs quickly went for the pin, and the referee counted the 1...2...3 to award the match to Childs.

Kogler: I wasn't sure what to expect coming into this one - after all, you've got funky rules, a technician, a martial artist, and a pair of nutbags! But wrestling wins out over brawling in this wild affair, Charles Childs is your sole survivor!

Underwood: Yes indeed, an impressive performance from Charles Childs, outlasting both Mental Brothers after Jaden was eliminated early on to win the match for his team. Childs and Jaden were unsuccessful in a recent title match against The Crimson Guild, but after tonight's performance one would have to think that they are right back in line for another championship opportunity. And speaking of title opportunities, our next championship match is up next; this time for the EWI hardcore title. Heavy D, fresh off an impressive string of victories that have included two wins over The Destroyer and a win over Charles Childs this past Monday night, puts the belt up against Virus Richards. I tell you Adam, this Virus Richards absolutely makes me sick. I have never in my life been around anyone who is a bigger liar or more insincere than this guy.

Kogler: Why, Underwood? Why must everyone in the EWI attack the character of Virus Richards? You know, I talked to Mr. Richards earlier tonight, and he was so upset about all these crazy accusations floating around, that he could barely focus on tonight's Hardcore Title match! Luckily, The Greatest Mind in Wrestling was there to reassure him that he can get the job done against a human turd like Heavy D!

Virus Richards
with Leroy & Bruno

*****

Creed's "Ode", the familiar theme song of Virus Richards, came over the loudspeaker much to the chagrin of the sold out Sacramento crowd, introducing the challenger for the EWI hardcore championship. Dressed to the nines as always, Leroy and Bruno led the way out for the former MMP world champion, who was wearing black and orange trunks and a white mesh jersey for his biggest EWI match to date. As Virus stepped into the ring Tupac's "California Love" played throughout the arena as Heavy D, the hardcore champion, made his appearance. Wearing a Los Angeles Lakers jersey over his torso and brass knuckles over both fists, Heavy D came down the aisle with a baseball bat in hand, keeping a focused eye on his challenger. Heavy D climbed into the ring with the fans a little less than appreciative that their favourite would wear the jersey of a rival basketball team into the Arco Arena during the NBA playoffs, but that didn't deter the hardcore champion from demanding to start the match. The challenger, however, was less enthusiastic, complaining that Heavy D was wearing illegal foreign objects on his hands. The referee turned and began to check D, but quickly realized his error and as he turned to remind Virus that anything goes in a hardcore title match, the challenger tossed a handful of salt right into Heavy D's eyes, causing him to drop his bat to the canvas as he clutched his face in pain. Leroy and Bruno stepped to the outside snickering at their boss' opening assault, and the bell rang to begin the match. The official admonished Virus for such a potentially dangerous move, but Richards responded simply by asking for a moment to change gloves, as some of the stuffing had accidentally fallen out while he was offering Heavy D a handshake. The official was left speechless, and Virus hit Heavy D with a double axhandle from behind, knocking the blinded man to the canvas. While D struggled to wipe his eyes clean Virus reached down and pulled the brass knuckles off both of Heavy D's hands, leaving the champion covered up and blinded on the canvas. Richards walked over and passed the knucks to the outside of the ring, one set to Leroy and the other to Bruno, stopping momentarily to gloat over his early success. While his back was turned, though, Heavy D started to clear his eyes, enough to find his baseball bat lying over in the corner. When Virus turned around he found Heavy D swinging the bat wildly, and it connected with the challenger square in the midsection, causing Richards to fall to the canvas in a heap. D wasn't about to let such a formidable challenger have even a second to breathe and stayed right on top of Richards, slamming the bat down repeatedly into Virus' left knee. After about a half dozen shots D dropped the bat, this time voluntarily, and began dropping a series of elbows down across that very same knee, concluding by applying a leg grapevine, trying to draw an early submission from the challenger. Virus, a former MMP extreme champion and thus somewhat familiar with this atmosphere, wasn't about to give up on his chance to become EWI world champion and fought his way towards the ropes, finally reaching out and grabbing the bottom strand, forcing the referee to step in and pull Heavy D off of him. The champ cockily agreed to let go, but even before Virus could get out of the ropes Heavy D had his baseball bat once again, driving it into Virus' leg twice more before rolling to the outside of the ring. Heavy D pointed the bat at Leroy and Bruno to keep them at bay before reaching under the ring and pulling out a steel chair, which he slid into the ring. He then went under the ring a second time, this time pulling out a table, which he also shoved in under the bottom rope. Once back in the ring Heavy D went for a big legdrop to subdue his opponent, but he had taken too long on the outside of the ring and Virus was able to roll out of the way before the blow could connect. Using the ropes to pull himself to his feet Virus then delivered a very deliberate stomp to the side of Heavy D's face using his good leg, and then using the middle rope as a springboard delivered a spinning legdrop down across D's throat. That move looked to be a mistake, though, as Virus was clearly favoring his leg after delivering the shot, keeping him from following up as quickly as he would have liked. To save himself having to put the leg to work Virus simply rolled over on top of Heavy D and began hammering down with right hands, stopping after almost a dozen shots to the side of the hardcore champion's head. Richards voluntarily got off, leaving a groggy champion to roll over and struggle to make it back to his feet. As D struggled Virus went to the corner and slowly climbed to the top. Despite favoring the leg he managed to get his balance on top, and when D was to his feet and moving towards the corner Virus came off with a moonsault, rolling D into a pinning position and getting a two count before the hardcore champ powered out and kept the match going. The two men got to their feet and Virus moved in with a running clothesline, but his bad leg slowed him up just enough that D was able to react, ducking out of the way before Virus could connect. As the challenger turned around he was met with a big boot to the face from the champion, knocking him flat on his back. Heavy D went for a quick cover and hooked the leg, but at the last moment Virus got a shoulder up. Undeterred, D walked to the other side of the ring and, one more time, picked up his trusty baseball bat. He set it down in the center of the ring, then scooped Virus up and slammed him right down on the bat, causing the challenger to squirm in pain, clutching his back. This time it was Heavy D climbing to the top rope, and after looking out to the crowd for approval he dove off looking to add a little insult to injury, with one of Virus' old finishing moves, the frog splash. Virus, though, saw it coming. Reaching behind himself he pulled the baseball bat out from under him and jabbed it upwards as D came down, causing D to be met with a stiff bat shot to the ribs rather than connecting with the splash. The champion rolled away clutching his ribs in pain and Virus crawled over to the other side of the ring, near where his henchmen stood on the outside. As D pulled himself up with the aid of the ropes across the ring, Leroy passed Virus the pair of brass knuckles that he had taken from Heavy D at the start of the match, and as the champion moved in Virus turned and connected with a hard right hand, knocking D clear out. He then grabbed D's legs, rolled him over, and applied his version of a liontamer, called the Honest Man's Honest Buck. The ref checked on Heavy D, who was not responsive, and quickly called for the bell. Heavy D was out, and Virus Richards was announced the new EWI hardcore champion.

Kogler: I knew it!! Finally, some vindication for Virus Richards!

Underwood: Virus Richards is the new EWI hardcore champion, bringing Heavy D's impressive streak to an abrupt halt here tonight at Blaze of Glory. It will now be Virus Richards moving on to compete in the King of Kings match later on and....what the, would you calm down over there? I know Heavy D lost and that makes you happy, but you're acting like a five year old at Christmas time. I hope Mr. Marvellous mops the floor with you tonight. Coming up next it's our fourth and final championship match leading into the King of Kings, and it's for the...

Kogler doesn't wait for Underwood to finish and interrupts.

Kogler: This match is way too close to call Underwood, I've been impressed by all three men leading up to this one. And with The Prophet thrown into the mix, it's anybody's ballgame! But unfortunately for our viewers out there, you're going to have to fly solo on this one, Underwood! As you know, I've got some business to take care of a little later on - I don't want to sound too confident, but you might say that I have this one in the bag!

Underwood: Right. As I was saying, Black Jack McBain earned a shot at the universal championship tonight several weeks ago by defeating Benjamin Childs, who has since earned that very title. Tonight they meet in a rematch, and after the controversial ending of the match last week at Collision between Childs and The Prophet, the eery grey-skinned man has been added to the match, making it a triple threat affair for the universal title. One fall to a finish, the winner moves on to take the final spot in the King of Kings matchup.

*****

The lights went out, as "Clubbed to Death" by Rob D began to play, signalling the entrance of The Prophet. Once the grey-skinned man was in the ring, "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen played, as the crowd cheered "Black Jack" McBain to the ring. The private investigator entered the ring and he and The Prophet stared each other down as the lighs went out once more, signalling the entrance of the universal champion, Benjamin Childs. "Stairway to Heaven" followed him down to the ring. Once the three men were in the ring, the bell sounded, and all hell broke loose. McBain charged Childs and attempted a baseball slide to his legs. Childs jumped over the attack, and as McBain got up, he was met with a massive clothesline from The Prophet. As The Prophet turned, however, he was met with the same from Childs. At this time McBain got up, and he and Childs began trading punches in the center of the ring. The bigger Childs got the advantage, and knocked McBain down, but The Prophet was up and caught Childs from behind, pushing him into the corner before laying into the universal champion with punches of his own. He then whipped Childs into the opposite corner and clotheslined him as he stumbled out. Reacting quickly, Childs rolled out of the ring to recuperate. The Prophet then centered on McBain, locking up with the detective. The Prophet whipped him into the ropes and went for yet another clothesline, but McBain ducked and hit a legsweep, sending Prophet down. McBain then quickly hit a flurry of three legdrops on Prophet before applying a standing figure-four leglock. Prophet, being quite a tall man, was able to quickly get to the ropes and cause the break. As McBain allowed Prophet to get up, Childs slid back into the ring and attacked McBain from behind with a forearm smash. Childs then applied an abdominal stretch on McBain, but McBain was able to step behind the move and take Childs down with several kicks to his knees, followed by a low blow. While the referee admonished McBain for his choice of tactics, The Prophet took full advantage of the situation, picking Childs up and hitting a belly-to-belly suplex. He went for the pin, but only got a one and a half-count before McBain was on him, kicking Prophet in the head and then nailing a punch to the big man's kidneys as he tried to stand. McBain then went for a pin on Childs, but Childs threw him off at the one count. The three men then got up simultaneously, and began viciously punching each other in the middle of the ring! McBain soon dropped to his knees, and delivered a shoulder block to the knees of his opponents, his left shoulder on Childs' knee and his right on The Prophet's, sending them both down to one knee. He then grabbed both their heads and took them down with a double DDT! The crowd cheered wildly as McBain went for a cover on The Prophet, but the strange seer kicked out after only two. Childs once more rolled out of the ring to recuperate, leaving McBain and The Prophet in the ring. McBain hit a few elbows to the knee of The Prophet, before pulling him up and sending him to the ropes. Childs was waiting on the outside, however, and pulled the top rope down, sending The Prophet over and hard to the outside of the ring. Childs then went into the ring and charged McBain, who slid under Childs' legs. McBain attempted a shortarm clothesline as Childs spun around, but Childs ducked his arm and grabbed him, sending him over with a Norhtern Lights suplex. Childs went for the pin, but only got a two-count before McBain got a shoulder up. Childs picked McBain up, but the detective poked him in the eye, giving him time to recuperate. The Prophet got into the ring at this point, and with he and McBain standing on either side of a stunned Childs, the two charged the champion, htting a splash on both sides of the man. This was bad for McBain as well as Childs, however, as the massive Prophet's momentum created enough force to knock down McBain as well. McBain shot up, but was met with a superkick from The Prophet. The Prophet then picked Childs up and applied a side headlock on Childs. After several seconds of this, McBain got up and grabbed Childs' legs, allowing The Prophet to take Childs down with a bulldog. McBain went for the quick pin, but Prophet quickly yanked him off. The Prophet grabbed McBain and whipped him into the corner, following close behind with an avalanche. With a sneer of hatred on his grey face, The Prophet laid into McBain with ten forearm smashes to McBain's head. Meanwhile, Childs snuck up behind and grabbed The Prophet, executing a belly-to-back suplex. McBain fell to the mat, leaving all three men lying prone in the ring! The referee began the count 1.....2.....3......4......5......the three men began to stir. 6......7......8.......9.......The Prophet was able to get to a knee. As he struggled to his feet McBain and Benajmin Childs did the same. The Prophet and Childs began trading punches once again, while McBain climbed to the top rope behind The Prophet. Almost as if somehow seeing what was going on behind him, The Prophet quickly shoved Childs into the ropes, knocking McBain off of the turnbuckles and to the floor. As Childs came off the ropes, The Prophet grabbed him by the neck, and summoning all of his strength, lifted Childs up into the air and down to the mat with a vicious chokeslam! The Prophet collapsed onto Childs and pinned him, as the referee counted the 1....2....3 to award the match and the universal championship to The Prophet!

Underwood: The Prophet is the new universal champion, and now the picture is complete. In tonight's main event it will be Lance Stanton, The Daemon Knight, Virus Richards, The Prophet, and The Cult Master battling it out, no disqualification, elimination rules, for the EWI world championship live at Blaze of Glory. I could go on about this match for an hour, but honestly, I'm more interested in seeing our next match. My broadcast collegue Adam Kogler steps into the ring, for some unknown reason, against a former MMP and OWA world champion in Mr. Marvellous for the right to sit out here with me week after week as the number one EWI color commentator. Rather than talk about it, though, let's just go back to the ring. I've got a feeling Adam Kogler has a real ass kicking on the way, and I for one can't wait to see it.

Pantera's "Hostile" smashed over the arena speakers, as Adam Kogler made his way to the ring in full "Scrapper" regalia; the bright blue shorts and matching headband, wrestling boots, and of course, the classic Strong Island Scrapper tanktop that showed off all of his 140-pound frame. Taking some time to jaw with and insult the fans at ringside, Kogler eventually made it to the ring. He carried with him a microphone, and soon put it to good use:

Kogler: Well well, here I am in beautiful San Diego, California, and...

The ring announcer walked over and whispered something into a mockingly confused Kogler's ear as the fans booed.

Kogler: Sacramento?! No wonder I can't get that smell out of my clothes! But it doesn't matter; the only thing that matters is this match, right here, right now! You hear me, Marvellous? This is going to be worse than when the Lakers massacre the Kings in the NBA Playoffs! When I'm done with you, that sick mom of yours is going to seem like the least of your worries! So waddle your over the hill ass on out here, so the Strong Island Scrapper can kick it back to kingdom come!

The recorded voice of Mr. Marvellous proclaiming himself to be the Greatest Man Alive, followed by his traditional "Ode To Joy" theme, soon played as the retired ring veteran made his way down the aisle. Although not a familiar role, Marvellous was clearly the fan favorite as this juncture. He stepped through the ropes and immediately began exchanging insults and trash talk with the man that currently held the position of EWI color commentator. Eager to take it back, Marvellous told the ref to ring the bell. Blake Underwood at ringside played up the long history between the two men and the wrestlers they've managed against one another, at which point they locked up. Kogler, however, immediately pulled out and walked over to a neutral corner, tapping his head. The ref yelled at Kogler to get in there, so Kogler obliged, but then pulled out of another lockup, complaining of a hair pull. The fans were getting fed up with Kogler's antics, and so was Mr. Marvellous; he pushed past the referee and decked Kogler with a hard right hand. Marvellous stayed on Kogler, grabbing him by the hair and tanktop, and tossing him through the ropes to the outside. He slowly followed Kogler out, but was met with a thumb to the eye. Kogler snagged a steel chair from ringside, and jammed it into the ribs of his opponent. Mr. Marvellous was dragged over to the announce table, where Kogler yelled at Underwood, the fans, and anyone else that would listen that he was the Greatest Mind in Wrestling. Unfortunately for him, this allowed the self-proclaimed Greatest Man Alive to bury some jabs into his ribs, then lift him up and drop him face-first onto the announce table. Kogler sprung back into Marvellous, who caught him and tossed him back into the ring under the bottom rope. Following him back into the ring, Marvellous scooped up Kogler and dropped him with a body slam. A pinfall was attempted, but Kogler wearily shot an arm up after 2. Undaunted, Marvellous pulled Kogler to his feet, whipped him into the ropes, and caught him with a clothesline. As Adam Kogler struggled to his feet, Marvellous waited, and when the moment was right, he slapped on the Marvellous Lock! Kogler, however, immediately kicked backward with a low blow, allowing him to escape the hold and roll out of the ring. On the outside, Kogler began to crawl under the ring apron. Marvellous though, had recovered from the low blow, and slid out of the ring. He grabbed Kogler by the ankles and pulled him out, then flung him across the outside, headfirst into the guardrail. Marvellous slowly walked toward him, playing to the crowd, but he didn't notice that Kogler had pulled a small black duffel bag from beneath the ring, and was now opening it while face down on the floor. As Mr. Marvellous bent down to grab Kogler, Adam reached up and jammed a stun gun into the chest of Mr. Marvellous! Marvellous crashed to the floor, twitching, and Kogler crawled over him and repeatedly jammed it into his chest until he was motionless. Although it took him awhile, Kogler was eventually able to lift Mr. Marvellous' limp body and roll it under the bottom rope. Kogler then reentered the ring himself, and raised his arms into the air to draw the ire of the fans. As Kogler went for the cover, however, the boos turned to loud cheers. The referee dropped to make the count: 1 .. 2 .. but the figure from the crowd dropped a double axehandle on Kogler to break up the count at the last moment. Kogler got up, cursing all the while, and wheeled around to confront his attacker, at which point his face looked as if he had just seen a ghost. He looked down at the ripped blue jeans, the black muscle tee, and finally into the eyes of Twisted Steel! Steel smiled and waved at his former manager, the grabbed him by the tanktop, ripping it off in the process, spun him around, and gave Kogler a massive Living End. The referee was tending to Mr. Marvellous along with several other officials and EMT's that were beginning to load him onto a stretcher, and seeing what had just happened to Adam Kogler, a second stretcher was brought over to him. At the same time, Twisted Steel called for a mic with a huge smirk on his face:

Steel: Greatest mind in wrestling, my ass.

Steel slammed the mic down into Kogler's chest as "Bang Your Head" roared through the arena. Kogler and Marvellous were helped from the ring as Steel grabbed Kogler's tanktop from the mat, then climbed the turnbuckles and raised his arms, bringing the fans to their feet. As Kogler was carried out, Twisted Steel stood over him with a smile, then symbolically draped the "Strong Island Scrapper" tanktop over his face.

Underwood: I don't know what's just happened here...Adam Kogler uses the stun gun and has Mr. Marvellous carried out of here on a stretcher, but then all of a sudden Twisted Steel comes out of nowhere and lays out his former manager....I'm being told this match has been ruled a no contest, but what does that mean? Am I still stuck with Adam Kogler next week? Who's going to fill...

Steel: Ya mind if I fill the vacancy here, Blake my man?

Underwood: By all means. After giving Adam the Living End you can stay out here every night if you want.

Steel: Good, 'cause after gettin' a whole lot of pent up aggression out on the Crapper up there, I just wanna kick back and scope out the rest of this show from the best seat in the house. What's comin' up next on the ol' Blaze Of Glory?

Underwood: Not much of a match, I'm afraid. Mr. Beumont sees action next. I give this one about thirty seconds until Nick Sinister picks up the victory. Let's get this debacle out of the way, we've got the King of Kings still to come.

Nick Sinister
~VS.~
Mr. Beumont
with Welfare William & Hobo Richard

*****

"On Rich and Poor" led a very focused Nick Sinister to the ring. Instead of wrapping himself in his usual black silks, Sinister carried a large, beige equipment bag tied closed with a large chain over his shoulder. The solemn behavior of Sinister led the commentators at ringside to speculate if there was something living .... or formerly living ... inside the bag. After dumping the bag in a corner of the ring, Sinister entered the ring and went down to one knee, staring intently at the entranceway as Beumont made his way to the ring with Welfare William and Hobo Richard. Once Beumont was ready to go Sinister stared down into his smaller opponents eyes. Then, for the first time all night, he broke into a small smile. Then laughter. Then Sinister reared his head back and broke into raucous, booming laughter, which Beumont joined in on despite having no idea what his opponent was laughing at. Sinister then stopped laughing. Just as quickly, he grabbed Beumont by the throat and lifted him high into the air. Holding him in limbo for an extended period of time, Sinister grinned evilly before bringing him crashing down to the mat. Sinister yanked him up by the arm and locked in the Weeper's Sorrow, swinging Mr. Beumont wildly from side to side before he was awarded the submission victory. Sinister immediately dropped his opponent, and as the referee was raising his arm, Sinister locked the referee in the Weeper's Sorrow, cinching in the painful hold past repeated clanging of the ring bell before tossing the ref to the outside. At that point Sinister went for his bag, slowly removing the chain. But instead of opening it, he simply took the large chain over to Mr. Beumont, and before the battered man could escape, Sinister brought it down hard across his back. All officials, as well as Hobo Richard and Welfare William, were kept at bay by Sinister swinging the chain in circles above his head. After laying into the Beumont a few more times, Sinister finally went for his bag. After building some suspense, Sinister dumped out the contents - a mix of nails, tiny razors, and stained red shards of glass. Picking up Beumont gently by the collar, Sinister slowly set him up, then delivered a sickening powerbomb onto the debris. Sinister lent down and yelled something inaudible at Beumont, then rubbed his face from side to side across the mat and subsequent articles of pain. At this point, the mic was demanded. Sinister placed one foot on Beumont's back, and spoke.

Sinister: A beacon of black light ... it came to me in a beacon of black LIGHT-

As Sinister emphasized his last word, he buried the chain into Beumont again.

Sinister: The reason ... the reason I failed to defeat Captain Patrick O'Conner in battle. It was not due to a lack of skill .... nor to a lack of heart. The Captain has shown me the way! I realize now the error of my ways. I know where I have gone wrong .... for you see ... I have grown far, too, SOFT!

Sinister blasted Beumont once again with the chain.

Sinister: So on this night, a night where my men have avenged my tainted loss to the Psychotic one over a year ago, and will go on to battle in the King of Kings ... I have taken the lowest of the low, this transient leech of The Family food chain .... and made an example. My attack on the Captain - nothing! My dismemberment of Mr. Beumont ... a mere signal. A warning sign to those who would do me wrong. What you see beneath my heel is a glimpse into your future to those who trifle in the affairs .... of the Crimson Guild.

Sinister then dropped the chain on top of Mr. Beumont.

Sinister: ....I thank you very much.

Sinister calmly left the ring, while officials were finally able to get in and tend to Mr. Beumont.

Steel: Dude ... I know Beumont's kinda the resident punchline around here, but I gotta say, nobody deserves that kinda treatment.

Underwood: That Nick Sinister is a sick, sick man. What exactly was that supposed to prove? He beat up on a 150 pound man that everyone knows doesn't have the faculties to defend himself. Nick Sinister should be in an asylum somewhere, not in a wrestling ring. That kind of behavior is completely uncalled for.

As Underwood finishes, a brief ad for the next EWI pay per view airs, with Creed's "Freedom Fighter" playing in the background. EWI Power Trip is scheduled for May 30.

Underwood: Well Steel, this is it. This is the match the world has been waiting for. Ever since Commissioner Thomas Owens made the announcement several weeks ago, championships have been contested like never before. We've seen more title matches in recent weeks than we'd ever seen. Heck, we've even seen four title matches already here tonight. And it all comes down to this. The Cult Master. Lance Stanton. The Prophet. Virus Richards. The Daemon Knight. All five men are champions, but only one will emerge victorious tonight.

Steel: This is the one I've been waitin' for, Blakey boy. The Cult Master's already been to hell an' back with Cap, and he's got four hungry guys comin' at him that also scratched and clawed their asses into this match right here. Goin' through 4 other guys to snag the EWI World Title, it may not be goin' through 15 of 'em like some of us did to win that belt, but it ain't nothin' to sneeze at either. I was the first guy to hold that Title, and I'm tellin' ya right here, any one of those five guys deserves their shot that they're gettin' right now. Whoever comes out of it with the gold is gonna have to deal with the Steel soon enough, but it ain't about that tonight; tonight, it's all about the King of Kings!

Underwood: That it is, Twisted Steel. That it is. And without further adieu, ladies and gentlemen, EWI fans...let's find out who is the King of Kings.

*****

After one final showing of the King of Kings promotional video, updated to include highlights from the four championship matches earlier in the evening, the lights dimmed slightly and the first competitor in the King of Kings match, the giant Daemon Knight, made his way towards the ring as an explosion errupted from the entranceway. Knight proudly carried his tag team title belt over his shoulder and was accompanied as always by Page, who stayed close by her man as he made his way to the ring for the biggest match of his career. As one half of the EWI tag team champions entered the ring the other, more flamboyant half, Lance Stanton, made his way down the aisle, proudly carrying his half of the championship as he slid into the ring. "Ode" then filled the arena for the third time of the evening, introducing the new EWI hardcore champion Virus Richards, who just as earlier was accompanied by Leroy and Bruno. Wearing a different orange and black mesh jersey for this match, Virus passed his hardcore title belt to Leroy on the outside and discussed some last minute strategy as "Clubbed to Death" began to play, signifying the arrival of The Prophet, fresh off his victory for the EWI universal title earlier over Benjamin Childs and Black Jack McBain. Finally, with the four challengers waiting in the four corners of the ring, "Carmina Burana" played and the long ceremonial entrance procession of The Cult Master began. Being carried to the ring on his makeshift throne, the world champion looked as confident as ever, having defeated long time foe Captain Patrick O'Conner earlier in the evening. After an extended entrance Cult Master finally stepped into the ring, and it didn't take long before The Prophet stepped right up to him, glaring into the world champion's face with his darting yellow eyes before hauling off and slapping the leader of The Cult right across the face. The bell rang, and the King of Kings match was underway. Daemon Knight and Stanton, who emerged from the earlier round of title matches in the best shape of all five competitors, showed that advantage in the early going. Knight went right after the new hardcore champion, nailing Virus Richards with a running clothesline in the corner as Richards was doing some last-minute conferring with his associates on the outside of the ring. He and Stanton, both with tag title belts still in hand, then displayed a rare instance of teamwork, charging the Cult Master/Prophet confrontation and nailing the two men in the side of the head with their title belts. The force of Knight's blow sent Cult Master all the way under the bottom rope to the floor while Stanton's shot merely floored Prophet at the feet of the tag champs, who began double teaming the grey-skinned man as the other two participants in the match remained out of the picture early. After a series of stomps and clubbing forearm blows Daemon Knight pulled Prophet to his feet and whipped him into Stanton, who delivered the Splice in the early moments of the match. Virus Richards emerged from the corner and went to hit Stanton with a double axhandle from behind but Stanton saw him coming and stopped Virus in his tracks with a hard right hand to the midsection. While Richards was winded Stanton whipped the man into Daemon Knight, who caught Virus around the throat, hoisted him high in the air, and planted him hard in the middle of the ring with a chokeslam. The two Crimson Guild members stood triumphantly in the middle of the ring with two opponents at their feet and the third on the floor, but their celebration was short lived. Once Knight turned his back Stanton rolled the big man up into a small package, scoring a two count and nearly gaining a quick pinfall over his own tag team partner. Knight got up and right in Stanton's face, but the Hollywood-type simply reminded Knight that it was every man for himself. The big man did not seem pleased with this answer, though and stalked Stanton back into the corner. Before Knight could physically attack his own partner Prophet interrupted, nailing Knight with a hard forearm across the back of the neck. Stanton let out a sigh of relief, but as he went to move out of the corner his feet went out from under him and he landed face first on the canvas. The Cult Master, still on the outside after the tag belt shot from Daemon Knight, had tripped him up, allowing the world champ to get back into the ring unscathed. He put the boots to Stanton before yanking him up, setting him on the top rope, and connecting with the Final Prayer! Cult Master quickly floated over into a cover, hooked the leg, and scored the three count, making Lance Stanton the first casualty of the King of Kings match. Stanton was quickly shoved out of the ring under the bottom rope by his victor, who wasted little time in going and attacking Virus Richards, another long time adversary from the MMP days, who was still recovering from the effects of the Daemon Knight chokeslam. On the other side of the ring Prophet had gained the upper hand on Daemon Knight, whipping Nick Sinister's largest follower into the ropes and catching him on the rebound with a powerslam. The Cult Master looked to make it two falls in a row as he pulled the new hardcore champion to his feet and connected with a Northern Lights suplex, and he may well have gotten the three count if not for Bruno reaching in and swatting the world champ's leg out from under him to break up the pin. Across the ring Prophet was chopping the chest of Daemon Knight in the corner while Cult Master, undaunted, pulled Virus to his feet. Richards, though, stopped Cult Master in his tracks with a rake of the eyes before a desperation superkick knocked Cult Master through the ropes and out to the floor once again. Virus collapsed to the canvas, trying to catch a breather while the two biggest men in the match battled it out across the ring. Prophet charged Knight in the corner, but the big tag team champion stepped out of the way, causing Prophet to catch nothing but turnbuckle. As he rebounded out Daemon Knight caught him with a big sidewalk slam, driving the wind right out of the universal champion. Knight made the cover and hooked the leg, but only got a two count before Prophet powered out. He then started to pull Prophet to his feet, but as he did so he was caught with a dropkick to the back of the head from Virus Richards, sending Daemon Knight face first to the turnbuckle. A chop block from the same source brought the big man down to his knees, enabling the hardcore champion to work him over with a series of stomps to the back of the neck and back. As Knight fell to the canvas Virus reached into his trunks and pulled out a length of chain, before motioning over to Leroy to come around to that part of the ring. Acting quickly Virus wrapped the chain around Knight's ankles, and with the slack reached the chain over a few feet to the bottom rope. Leroy reached in and passed Virus a lock, which he then used to hold the chain in place, effectively trapping Daemon Knight down on the canvas. Richards then got to his feet, but before he could go to work on Knight he was grabbed from behind by The Prophet, who caught him with a German suplex and bridge, holding it in place and nearly scoring a three count before Virus kicked out at the last minute. With Prophet and Virus paired off Cult Master snuck back into the ring again, this time focusing on the incapacitated Daemon Knight. Cult Master dropped a big elbow down and made the cover on Knight, who despite clearly not being beaten was unable to power out due to his legs being tied to the rope. The referee counted three, and both members of the tag team champions were eliminated, bringing the match down to three men - The Cult Master, The Prophet, and Virus Richards. The Cult Master, who had been picking his spots carefully since the opening bell, was content to sit back and watch as Prophet caught Virus with a devastating tiger driver. With his boss apparently in big trouble Bruno hopped up onto the apron and into the ring, but was met promptly with a big clothesline from Prophet, knocking the well-dressed African-American over the top rope and back to the floor where he was supposed to be. The distraction gave Virus a small opening against Prophet which he took full advantage of, catching the universal champion with a low kick when he turned back around. Before Richards could go on the offensive, though, he had The Cult Master all over him, stomping the new hardcore champion about the head and back. Pulling Virus to his feet, Cult Master laid into the man with a series of European uppercuts that backed him into the ropes. He then whipped Virus across the ring, but when he turned around he was met with a quick kick to the midsection from The Prophet followed by a DDT, preventing him from following up his attack on Richards. Prophet went for a cover, scoring a 2 count before Cult Master kicked out. Not stopping there Prophet pulled Cult Master over to the corner and laid into him with a series of kicks to the midsection, and after a few seconds he was joined by Virus Richards in a double-team effort, driving Cult Master down to the canvas. Richards and Prophet almost seemed to be operating on the same page. As Prophet set the world champ up on the top turnbuckle, Ricahrds went out to the floor and grabbed a steel chair, which he used to deliver a blow across the back of The Cult Master before setting it on the canvas near the corner. With Cult Master reeling from the chair shot Prophet followed his opponent to the top rope and connected with the Prophecy, right off the top rope and down onto the steel chair below! Prophet rolled Cult Master over and made the cover, scoring the pin and eliminating the world champion; a new world champion would be crowned at Blaze of Glory! Virus Richards wasted no time going on the attack. As soon as the ref's hand hit the canvas the third time Virus ran the ropes and, using the middle rope for a springboard, connected with a spinning legdrop across the back of Prophet's head. Pulling the much larger universal champion up Virus delivered a belly to back suplex before heading to the corner and climbing to the top rope. The hardcore champion dove off with a flying elbowdrop, crashing down hard across the sternum before making a cover for the 1...2...Prophet kicked out at the last second, causing a very frustrated Virus Richards to slam his hands against the canvas in disgust. Richards got up and backed away, reaching into his shorts and pulling out the same pair of brass knuckles he used to KO Heavy D in the hardcore title match earlier. Putting them over his fist Virus called for Prophet to get to his feet. Once the big man was up Virus moved in and swung, but Prophet blocked the punch and connected with three right hands off his own. With Richards staggered Prophet charged with a clothesline, but Virus ducked and lunged at Prophet with a superkick....which was caught. As Virus tried to figure out what to do next Prophet spun him around and grabbed him by the head, connecting with a reverse Russian leg sweep, the impact of which could be seen in how far it sent Virus' brass knuckles across the ring. With his opponent dazed Prophet acted quickly, pulling Virus over to the corner and setting him up on the top rope for the Prophecy. He hooked the head and fell back, but Virus didn't go over with him. Leroy had reached up from the floor at the last second and grabbed Virus around the ankles, holding him on the turnbuckle as Prophet went down on the back of his head. The universal champion still shook this off faster than did Virus and got to his feet, but again he was distracted by Bruno interrupting and getting into the ring. Just as happened earlier Bruno was quickly disposed of, but while Prophet's attention was diverted Leroy passed Virus a small bottle. When Prophet turned to face Virus again the hardcore champion splashed the bottle's contents right in Prophet's face! What was in the bottle was not identified, but by Prophet's reaction it was deadly. The universal champ clutched his face with both hands, showing pain more than he had to date in EWI. Richards capitalized quickly, jumping down from the turnbuckle and rolling Prophet up. He then reached back with his legs and put his feet on the ropes for extra leverege, unnoticed by the referee, who counted 1....2.....3. As soon as the referee's hand hit for the third time Virus fell off of his opponent, and Leroy pulled him out to the floor under the bottom rope. Bruno snatched both the world and hardcore title belts away from the timekeeper as Virus Richards was announced new EWI world champion. Leroy helped Richards back to the dressing room, passing a team of medics that ran to the ring to check on Prophet, who was still holding his face in agony. The camera picked up a quick shot of the dropped bottle, whose contents were unidentified but whose potency could easily be inferred from the black skull and crossbones on the side of the container. A final shot showed Virus Richards holding high his two newly won championship belts as the scene fades to black.
