Keeping a somewhat quiet profile, this expressionless and distant teenager devotes his future development in Balamb. Though his ambition isn't short-sided, his team spirit is very much lacking. Equipped with a Gunblade, a combined sword and gun, and eager to join the elite military organization known as SeeD, Squall is thrown into the mysterious conspiracy of rivalry in a world soon to be plagued by chaos.

Squall is the main character of Final Fantasy VIII. Kind of a guy that has many kinds of problems. His aloof and anti-social behavior makes him appear selfish and lacking a sense of team unity. Squall dislikes having others involved in his affairs, and is best described as a lone wolf.

My own description of Squall's combat expertise
Squall has mastered the moves of Gunblade fighting. His weapon, the Gunblade, is both gun and sword combined. It can be triggered at the right moment for more damage. His limit breaks are based on both his skills and Gunblade energy combined in one attack. There's also a sequence of triggering to be done before Squall performs a finishing blow.

Gunblades

A Gunblade is a combined sword and gun weapon. In battle, when Squall strikes, it can be triggered on a right moment enable to do more damage.

Renzokuken

Squalls limit breaks are called Renzokuken. A style of Gunblade fighting. A trigger indicator will be shown while performing this attack (only if the Renzokuken indicator is on). And his finishing blows can be learned depending on Squall's Gunblade model.
