WorkSince April, I've been working at America Online, Columbus as a User Research Intern. It's the Cognitive side of Industrial Engineering (basically it's more Psychology than anything). I help my boss with Usability testing where we bring people in to test our products on them. It's a lot like market research, only we're testing them before they ever come out to see how well everything works for our users and if they like the design, etc. We test things like Instant Messenger updates and the Netscape homepage. Then, I get to analyze all the data from our tests and help with recommendations on any changes that need to be made. Thankfully, I never have to present our findings, because I think I'd mess everything up :) OSU Trademark & Licensing From March 2003 until June 2004 I worked at OSU Trademark & Licensing Services. It is the company in charge of the use of the Ohio State Trademark. When I was originally hired there (by Elizabeth, the Bicentennial person, for lack of a better word), it was to work with the Ohio Bicentennial logo (and mascot). I was in charge of scheduling the mascot and dealing with anyone who wanted to use the logo for a one-time project. At the end of summer 2003, I started working as an office assistant with the other student workers answering phones, filing, entering new products into the database, etc. |
