Compare/ Contrast the Similarities and Differences of The Glorious of Revolution of Britain in 1688 verse Declaration of

~ Independence verse the Declaration of the Rights of Man ~

The Glorious Revolution paved the way for the American Revolution thus leading to the Declaration of Independence. Unlike the Glorious Revolution, the

Declaration of Independence actually achieved what King James II had wanted to happen; the destruction of a monarchy. The Glorious Revolution observed the

power of the monarchy, led the way to rise of cabinet government and parliamentary social equality, and ended with the passing of the English Bill of Rights. The

Declaration of Independence was created after many hard, tough years of rebelling against the British Monarchy. In it, it gave American citizens natural rights that

included life, liberty, and freedom against an unfair king. This was the first country to accept a democratic government where the citizens elected a president. In the

Declaration of the Rights of Man, it included much of what was included in the Declaration of Independence, but included more freedom that even that. This new

constitution included many of the same ideas that the United States of America’s Declaration of Independence discussed but it also added rights for women. Some

of these rights included the right for women to vote, and many more that had never been available to women before. Eventually in the United States, the women

would rebel and demand for the rights that the French women would have decades before they had them.
