  1. The Iliad and the Odyssey were stories told by Homer, the blind poet.
  2. Mountains helped to shape the development of Greek civilization because it separated city-states and allowed colonies to form within the valleys.
  3. Spartan males entered the military at the age of 7, and females were trained to produce healthy children.
  4. Athens had a direct democracy in which a large number of male citizens took part in the day-to-day affairs of government.
  5. The results of the Persian war was that the Greeks defeated the Persians and increased their sense of own uniqueness. They felt that the gods had protected their superior form of government.
  6. The Peloponnesian war affected Athens because the Spartans captured Athens in 404 BC with the help of the Persian navy.
  7. The Socratic Method is through patient questioning, the questioner gets another person to contradict themselves.
  8. Alexander the Great conquered parts of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
  9. Egyptian, Persian, Greek, and Indian cultures were blended to form the Hellenistic civilization.
