Location and boundaries
- Located in the Central Visayas region, Siquijor is a small island midway between Visayas and Mindanao islands. It is located some 30 kilometers from Negros and about 565 aerial kilometers from Manila.
- It is bounded in the north by the islands of Cebu; Bohol is to the northeast; to the west is Negros island; to the east is Camiguin; to the south is mainland Mindanao. Facing its northern shores is Bohol Strait, southeast shores is the Mindanao Sea.
- Siquijor is 40 minutes from Cebu City by air or chartered light aircrafts, 10 minutes from Dumaguete City or an hour flight from Manila. By fast ferries, it is three hours trip from Cebu City via Dumaguete City
- The province can also be reached by a passenger/cargo boat (conventional vessel) in a seven (7) hour trip from Cebu or three (3) to four (4) hours from Plaridel and Iligan (Mindanao), three (3) hours from Tagbilaran City and two (2) hours from Dumaguete City.

Local incentives
Tax Incentives for Registered Enterprises in addition to the incentives provided by law, by Republic Act 7160 or Local Government Code of 1991, and Republic Act 7916 known as "The Special Economic Zone Act of 1995", and other pertinent laws: a registered enterprise shall enjoy the following tax incentives:
- From the date of approval of registration by the Board up to the start of commercial operation, an enterprise registered under this Code, shall be fully exempt from charges imposed under the existing Provincial Revenue Code, or specifically but not limited to Articles 224, 225, 226 and 229 of the Rules and Regulations implementing the Local Government Code of 1991 (R.A. 7160), and in no case shall said period exceed one (1) year.
- A registered enterprise qualified under this Code shall within six (6) years from the start of its commercial operation, be exempt from the aforesaid provincial impositions under the conditions and manner herein prescribed.
- For qualified enterprises : 100% - 1st and 2nd year; 80% - 3rd year; 60% - 4th year; 20% - 5th year; 10% - 6th year; 0% - 7th year
- One hundred percent (100%) of the Provincial share of Real Property Tax Holiday shall be enjoyed by above-mentioned firms for one (1) year from approval and three (3) years from the start of the commercial operations.
