the province of Apayao, east by Cagayan, west by

Investment areas
- Timber-based product manufacturing. The
province's dense forests provide vast resources
for soft and hardwood. The raw materials for
furniture, building components and other wood
products.
- None timber-based product manufacturing. The
province produces more than 37 million lineal
meters of rattan and 124 lineal meters of
bamboo, nito, darumaka, banglan and cogon also
abound in Kalinga. These indigenous materials
can sustain a thriving gift, toys and houseware
industry.
- Fine gold jewelry making. The province has
more than 100 million metric tons of gold
reserves that are 18-karat grade, suitable for
fine jewelry making.
- Energy generation. The province has several
potential energy sources. Already identified are
mini-hydro and geothermal sources that can
generate 620.7 megawatts of power.
- Mango, pineapple and banana processing.
Fruits are grown extensively in the province.
Total area planted to with mango, banana and
pineapple spans 1,272 hectares, with 6,324
hectares identified as potential for
cultivation.
- Coffee production. The area currently
planted to coffee is over 3,600 hectares.
Potential area available for cultivation is
4,295 hectares. Robusta, Arabica and Excelsa are
the widely produced varieties. Prospects are
good for businesses that process coffee beans
into powder form or food flavoring.
Local Incentives
Ordinance is still under review by the
Sangguniang Bayan and Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Major Tourist Attractions
- Arya Abra Festival - held in March of
each year, the event is highlighted by parades,
games of show and competition, and a trade fair.
The trade fair showcases the best of Abra's farm
and fishery resources and the beautiful
handicrafts of its people. Horse and carabao
racing, kite flying and bamboo raft racing are
some of the games and competitions played during
the festival.
- Tingguian Festival - also held in
March, this festival focuses on Abra's biggest
ethnic group. This annual activity showcases the
Tingguians unique culture as depicted by its
sports, dances and traditions.
- Boliney Hot Spring - located in Bani,
Boliney, Abra, the place can be reached by
jeepneys after traveling 32 kilometers of dirt
road. The place is ideal fro swimmers who love
taking a bath in hot and cold water.
