Location and boundaries
  • A strategic peninsular province lying in the southwestern part of Central Luzon.
  • Strategically located right in the middle of the country's growth triad corridor of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) and Metro Manila, making it one of the most progressive provinces in the region.
  • Majority of its municipalities are within the coastline, with Manila Bay in the east and the China Sea in the west and south.
  • The province is virtually surrounded by water except for the northeastern portions that are bounded by Zambales and Pampanga.
  • Balanga, its capital town, is about 124 kilometers from Manila by land and approximately 31.2 nautical miles across Manila Bay. It is also about 50 kilometers from SBMA and 70 kilometers from CSEZ.

  • For road transport and access, there are many buses that ply the Manila to Bataan route regularly, with Balanga serving as the hub. Balanga is about an hour's drive from Clark and Subic, and about 2 and a half hours to Manila.
