Location and boundaries
- Abra is bounded on the North by the
Provinces of Ilocos Norte & Apayao, East by
the Province of Kalinga, West by the Province of
Ilocos Sur and South by Mountain Province
- The province has a total land area of
397,555 hectares with Bangued as the provincial
capital
- Abra has an extremely rugged terrain with
mountains and hills along the periphery and in
the interior of the province
- It has an elevation varying from 5 meters to
a little over 2,000 meters above sea level
- Abra has two identified agro-climate zones.
Zone A covers the lowland and hilly areas on the
western/south western parts of the province and
Zone B covers the eastern, Northern and south
