Abra

   

Location and boundaries

  • Abra is bounded on the North by the Provinces of Ilocos Norte & Apayao, East by the Province of Kalinga, West by the Province of Ilocos Sur and South by Mountain Province
  • The province has a total land area of 397,555 hectares with Bangued as the provincial capital
  • Abra has an extremely rugged terrain with mountains and hills along the periphery and in the interior of the province
  • It has an elevation varying from 5 meters to a little over 2,000 meters above sea level
  • Abra has two identified agro-climate zones. Zone A covers the lowland and hilly areas on the western/south western parts of the province and Zone B covers the eastern, Northern and south western highland and mountain areas of the province
  • January is the coolest month while the warmest month is May
  • Dry season is from November until April while wet season is from May to October
