southernmost tip of Mindanao

Incentives
Incentives to provincial board of investments
(PBOI) registered enterprises
(As provided
for under Ordinance No. 2002-020, otherwise
known as the Sarangani Province Investments
Code)
- Fiscal Incentives
- Full exemption from payment of the 30%
Provincial Government share on Tax on Sand,
Gravel and other Quarry Resources during the
construction period but not to exceed two (2)
years; provided, that the sand, gravel or other
quarry resources are used as materials for the
construction of buildings and other facilities
of the investment project. Provided further,
that at least sixty percent (60%) of the labor
component in the construction are residents and
registered voters of Sarangani Province;
- Exemption from payment of Provincial
Government's thirty-five percent (35%) share
from the basic real property tax for a maximum
period of four (4) years from the date the
enterprise is registered with the Board, based
on the following schedule:
- First year - 100% exemption
- Second year - 75% exemption
- Third year - 50% exemption
- Fourth year - 25% exemption
- Fifth year - full payment
- Full exemption from annual payment of
Governor's Permit fees for a period of not more
than five (5) years from the date the enterprise
was registered with the Board;
- If applicable, fifty percent (50%) exemption
from annual payment of Amusement Tax (Provincial
share only) for a period of three (3) years from
the start of commercial operation;
- Fifty percent (50%) discount from rental
rates of Provincial Government owned/controlled
and/or operated light and heavy equipment during
construction period but not to exceed two (2)
years, provided, that the discounted daily
rental rate for an eight-hour use per day does
not include the salary of the equipment operator
and fuel consumption.
- Non-fiscal Incentives
- The establishment of the Provincial Business
Center that shall be equipped with business
support facilities and equipment, which shall be
accessible and made available to all enterprises
registered with this Code
- Provision of the following services through
the Provincial Business Center:
- Business documentation and registration
facilitation
- Internet access
- Access to business information
- Business matching
- Guided industrial tour within Sarangani
Province
- Other services that may be authorized by the
Board
- Such other non-fiscal measures that may from
time to time be promulgated by the Board,
subject to the approval of the Sangguniang
Panlalawigan
Major tourist attractions
- Lubi-lubi festival - A thanksgiving
celebration for the bountiful harvest of
coconut. Coconut products are put on display,
while participants to the street dances are
garbed with materials taken from the coconut
tree.
