I pray for their Families,
And their Friends,
I know some day,
That this war will end.
But till then, the words I write,
Before I fall asleep tonight,
Is a prayer, that's never left unsaid,
A prayer I pray, aloud and in my head.
That some day soon,
War will no longer be,
That mothers and fathers,
Wives and husbands,
Will no longer grieve.
Before I fall asleep tonight,
This prayer I pray:
I pray for their Families,
As well as their Friends.
That some day soon,
War will no longer be,
That mothers and fathers,
Wives and husbands,
Will no longer grieve.
Dear Lord,Please take care of the 16 that join you today.
Helping the world, with their lives they paid.
They knew the risk, but still they dared.
Knowing they will not be the last, I add my prayer. Before I lay me down to sleep,
Let my words join the tears I weep.
I pray for the family and friends, the ones who will miss.
Who only have the memories of the last hug and kiss.I pray that parents won't have to bury a son.
Or daughters who bravely helped to get it all done.
With the help of all those answered the call.
Maybe this will be the chance to end it all.Maybe someday soon, I could ask once more.
For a time there will no longer be a need for war.
To stop the need for one more spouse to grieve.
I know you will do your best, this I believe.Amen

Dear God,Thank you for taking my prayer to heart.
You must have realized, since you are so smart,
That 16 was too many to go on that day.
Taking only 12, 4 more live as we pray.
So I just wanted to take this time again,
To thank you for sending back someone's friend.
And now I must go, to begin once more.
So thanks again, feel free to give an encore.Amen
