Cabachons are domed cut semi-precious stones cut in various shapes but I cut most in
an oval shape. They are usually one quarter inch or less thick in the center. I cut mostly
agate but most any stone can be cut that will take a high polish. Cabachons can be mounted
in rings, pendents, earrings, and the large ones as belt buckles and bolas.
I have made two collecting trips to the western states of TX, NM, AZ, UT and AR. Of all these
states Utah was the best for collecting. Quartz crystal collecting in AR was very interesting.
I would like to collect in OR and NV. Some day !!!
