I was an exchange student from Goteborg, Sweden and only attended the 12th grade. I stayed with the Wise family and played on the School's soccer team. I now live in Sweden with my wife and 3 kids (born 1993, 1995 and 2002) and work in the family business selling Gaming Equipment world-wide as well as gaming online. For example, we have an office in Las Vegas.

I have visited Orange Park and the Wise family since I graduated. First time was in 1989 and last time in October 2000. I couldn't recognize the "city" of Orange Park but the Wises were all the same (God bless them for putting up with me for one year). The year 1978/1979 when being away from my family was very educative and I had a lot of fun. It did me good to be away and when coming back to Sweden I had a lot of new experiences which I have had good use of since then. My advice to you as parents is: Please give your kids the same opportunity if possible. To travel and explore other languages, cultures and making new friends is an advantage beyond imagination. It gives you a wider knowledge and opens one's eyes to better understand life and other cultures
