Hey Hat Trick!
My name is Paul and I am the interviewer and webmaster for elfunnio.com!
First of all, I love your music and can't wait to tell others.
Paul: I would like to know who your influences were in music and life, and what was the main subject usually for writing songs.
Hat Trick: I don't know if it's cause we're both short guys, but for the past 5 years or more i've felt a tremendously strong connection w/ Joey Cape singer/songwriter for Lagwagon. He's had an incredible impact on the writing i've done/doing. And before that it was Kurt Cobain, strangely enough Joey and I are both huge Nirvana fans! I've never met the guy but am destined to. However, Bryan my brother who is also the drummer for Hat Trick met him and Fat Mike backstage at Warped Tour! Much envy I couldn't be there that day..
Paul: Who was the most important person in your life who gave support in everything you did?
Hat Trick: Dad Trick. My father's a musician and has supported everything my brother and I have been doing since day one. We owe it all to him pretty much.
Paul: What was the most embarassing thing each of you have ever done
  in your life?
Hat Trick: Either the time I jumped off the stage during a show and came straight down on a girl's face or back in High School did a backflip un-intentionally in Math class
Paul: You have been touring for years at shows with some of the worlds greatest! You played Warped Tour '99 with Blink 182, the Vandals, LTJ, Pennywise, Ice-T, Eminem, Lit and more! Who were the coolest bands to you, and who were not?
Hat Trick: Well, we didn't really talk to any of these guys. Bryan talked to Warren from the Vandals who's way cool... I crossed paths with Tom & Mark from 182 but felt like a nobody and didn't know what to say.. No Use For A Name is cool and the guys from Limp are Rad. I talked to Phil on the phone about trying out for Limp just like Dan from Inspection 12. No word yet. Marco from the Ataris was an easy fellow to talk to as well.
Paul: How did all of you meet? School?
Hat Trick: Well Bryan and I are Brothers and started Hat Trick in 1996. We met our new bassist Kris a couple of years ago online.. he's from Santa Cruz, CA and moved all the way up here to Seattle just to be in the band.. bless his heart.
Paul: Greatest punk site? Favorite other site?
Hat Trick: punkmusic.com, myrecords.com
Paul: What are the last four albums you've listened to?
Hat Trick: Radiohead "ok computer", Grandaddy "sophtware slump"+ "through a frosty glass ep", Bad Astronaut vs Armchair Martian "split ep".
Paul: Thank you for your time. I will pass on your existence to many others and will make sure you get known for your great music!
If there is anything you would like to say to the readers, now is good time. Maybe upcoming albums, news, tours, shameless ads he he he
