A Gathered Few Moonlight thrown shadows, flickering tongues of a campfire, young ones nestled among trees, a secluded cove in the night. Parchment lain open, eyes cast heavenward, undried ink on the page, another dream has been born. For the few sleep evades them, will not come yet this night, hours pass by unnoticed, they continue to write. They are the dreamers, creating tomorrow, minds filled with wonder, and the excitement of life. Copyright2002 Patrick Sloan

Perceptions Some may see uselessness, while others see value beyond compare, and yet again one may be blind entirely. To judge is folly and can only be so, and yet we seem to continue, it is to be human I'm told. Understanding and patience, faith and compassion, all these things we each seek. Visions and dreams, hopes and fears, at times it is not as it seems. We each have our paths to follow, so let us not hinder the other, and view life with eyes wide open. Copyright2002 Patrick Sloan
Just Us When understanding is wanting, and foreign thoughts abound, the need is for something familiar, and someone who has been there. Time and again always the same, the effort to convey simply lost, visions clouded by difference, comprehension seemingly alien. Then sweet moments of clarity, though precious few they may be, a comfortable haven of sanity, it always comes down to just us. Copyright2002 Patrick Sloan
Blinded The eyes may easily play tricks, when the gift of sight is forgotten. Aberrations of things not there, basic truths missed completely. One house with many rooms, each one unique in and of itself, each with it's beauties and flaws, and yet all part of the one. To those supposedly blinded, these things are easily seen..... We all bleed red, we all laugh and we all cry and together as one, we live or die. So I ask you who is truly blind...... Close your eyes and see...... Copyright2002 Patrick Sloan
