| Journal of an Elf |
| April 20, 2004 Well, I have just finished my recent foray back to Mordor, to visit the residents there. My mother lives in an unfortunate dweling, surrounded by concrete, and I stayed there for a few days, waiting for the torrential rains to stop. I then went into Inner Mordor, where I visited a couple of jazz clubs, drank a bit of inferior beer and hung out with some friends. Unfortunately, my favorite hobbit friend was out of town.... I did manage to get my bow and computer from Queens, and brought them home with me. The bow was a problem. I managed to get it trough at Newark, but the suspicious folk in Montreal were loath to allow a fully armed elf onto their flying machine, despite my protestations of friendliness towards humans. I had to check it in at the "Special Services" desk, then run for the plane.... Luckily for me, I am very rapid, even with a loaded backpack (being a typical elf in love with learning,I brought back all manner of mystical literature, including the Kaballah). It is certainly nice to be back in the Rhineland, however, especially now that everything is in bloom... |
