The Gang

Jack is a cute little cowboy,
who is bound for Santa Fe,
Sarah is obsessed with the sun,
in a most peculiar way,
David is Sarah's brother,
he's in love with a reporter they say.

Blink has a patch like a pirate,
that goes with a gorgeous smile,
Spot is an egotistical jerk,
girls want to make out with him for a while,
Poor Bumlets is dead and in heaven now,
but he sure could dance and with style.

Les drinks beer for a quarter,
and plays with his little wood sword,
Dutchy has trouble spelling strike,
even though it's not a difficult word,
Snyder is a corrupt warden,
who I don't think worships the Lord.

Boots is the kid that's scared of Spot,
although intelligent it is not,
Medda is a beautiful actress,
the newsies attention she's always got,
Race is addicted to gambling,
therefore his cigars are stolen not bought.

Oscar calls Snipeshooter a 'lousy little shrimp',
Crutchy is the one Tenpin calls a gimp,
Seitz is kind of cool,
but Jonathan is a little pimp,
and if I ever get my hands on Monahan,
he'll soon walk with a limp.

Then there's Oscar and there's Morris,
brains just one thing they lack,
and last, the worst (who should be in a hearse) Pulitzer,
who needs to cut the newsies some slack.

And these are the people in Newsies,
though I may have skipped one or two,
but don't be discouraged,
this poem is almost through.

In closing I must decide,
that this poem really bites!
