Our Own Tomorrow Close Window

There she stands by the window sill,
Looking out at the rainy sky,
Her name I call out to her, "Jill,"
But she just keeps there standing still,
Trying her best not to cry;

I walk towards her slender frame,
Still standing there by the sill,
I touch her shoulder, I call her name,
She hides her face away in shame,
I tell her she is not to blame,
But she won't believe me, never will;

From the drafty window I pull her away,
And I sit her down on my queen sized bed,
I ask her if she'd like to stay,
Even a while, or even a day,
She slowly shakes her downturned head;

She says "I'm sorry, but I should go..."
I stop her before she says anymore,
For though she thinks that I don't know,
Of what transpired between her beau,
I knew about it since before;

"I know." I said and she looked at me forlorn,
"I've known for the longest time." I say,
She asks me why I didn't warn,
That her beau was cheating, her eyes filled with scorn,
And it was my turn to look away;

I don't want to look into her lonely eyes,
And see the hurt that I may have compounded,
I tell her softly "Would you believe if I,
Told you he cheated, you'd say that's a lie",
And I turn back to see her dumbfounded;

She holds her head and nods most slowly,
As her shoulders are covered by her rain soaked hair,
She knows I speak the truth for she,
Knows if I told her, she wouldn't believe me,
And our friendship would have ended right there;

She starts sobbing quietly and I hold her close,
Close to my heart which breaks as she cries,
She looks at my face, there we sit, nose to nose,
Our lips almost touching, it was time that I chose,
As I closed the final distance and we both closed our eyes,

The kiss was most tender, and my heart did explode,
I felt love flood my body and course through my veins,
And I held on to her tightly as her love and mine showed,
As this wave of pure desire from my body flowed,
Into her gentle embrace which I desire again;

As our clothes are removed and the sheets are entangled,
I look at her body most beautiful and divine,
As our bodies positioned and my ardor is angled,
Our bodies are fused, and my breath sounds strangled,
As I finally make this desirable woman mine;

I love her I tell her and I am no liar,
For the longest of times I have loved her forever,
And as our bodies soar higher and higher,
So close to the sun that fuels our desire,
As our bodies release our love's endevour;

As we lay there together still holding on tight,
And the tears on her face no longer of sorrow,
But one of joy that we shared on this night,
And her glow is brighter than any light,
We both know that we've found our very own tomorrow.
