With Every Goodbye You Learn...

After awhile you learn the subtle difference between
Holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to understand
That lisses aren't contracts,
And presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your held held high and your eyes open.
With the grace of a woman...not the grief of a child.
You learn to build your roads on today,
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After awhile you learn that even sunshine burns
If you get too much.
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure,
That you really are strong.
And you learn that you really do have worth
And that you keep learning...
With every goodbye you learn.

Giving up does not mean that you are weak...
Only that you are strong enough to let go.

Love From The Inside Out
        *************
Live like ther is no tomorrow...
Dance like there is no one watching...
Love like you've never been hurt.

Life is a game...
Love is not.

Reason...Season...Lifetime

People come into your life for a Reason, a Season or a Lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is, you know exactly what to do.

When people come into your life for a REASON, it is usually
to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide
you with guidance or support, to aid you physically, emotionally
or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.  Then, without
any wrongdoing on your part, or at any inconvenient time, this
person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die, sometimes they walk away.  Sometimes they
act up or out and force you to take a stand.  What we must realize
is that our need has been met, our desire fullfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn
has come to share, grow or learn.  They may bring you an experience
of peace or make you laugh.  They may teach you something you have
never done.  They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it!  It is real!  But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things
you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway);
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and
areas of your life.

Lonely Ships

Lonely ships sail by my window,
they're drifting out to sea.
I wish that they would stop awhile,
and wait out there for me....

She left in late December,
and she called in June to say...
That she'd had our little baby,
and she'd given it away.

I could hear the hurt in her voice...
I could see her standing there.
And I wished that I had stopped her,
but at the time...I din't care.

I thought I wanted freedom,
more than what she offered me.
Now I sit here in my lonliness...
It isn't like I thought I'd be.

Many nights I dream about her
and the love that we once shared.
She gave herself completely...
and I never really cared.

Now I sit and watch the lonely ships.
She's never coming back to me.
I wish the ships would stop awhile...
and take me to that sea.

Life...Our Borrowed Time

Sometimes when we look back on life,
we do not see the gain.
For we have travelled many roads,
and seen our share of pain.

Hopes and dreams we've strived for,
lay shattered in the past.
And years that we've forgotten,
for we have lived too fast.

Lost loves and broken promises,
weigh heavy on our heart.
For we've not taken the time,
to let the healing start.

So much we take for granted,
as the days and years rush by.
We rarely stop to bow our heads,
or hear anothers cry.

Take time today, reflect on life,
and all that you have been.
For this is but a borrowed time,
lent to us, from Him.

When you get what you wantin your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day.
Just go to a mirror and look at yourself
And see what the man has to say.
For it isn't your father or mother or wife
Whose judgement upon you must pass.
The fellow who's verdict counts most in your life,
Is the one staring back in the glass.

I Can't Forget Your Face

She came to me out of a dream,
an angel from afar.
She filled me with emotion,
I had never known before.
She took my hand and led me,
to a strange and different place.
She made me laugh and made me cry...
I can't forget her face.

Now, my little angels gone away.
My little angels free.
I wonder while she's wandering,
If she ever thinks of me?
I miss her gentle little smile,
her tender warm embrace.
But, more than anything at all...
I can't forget her face.

Please come to me, out of my dream,
my angel from afar.
And fill me with emotion
that we have shared before.
Please take my hand and lead me,
to a strange and different place.
And make me laugh and make me cry...
I can't forget your face.

Footprints...

One night a man had a dream...
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
one belonged to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him;
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints.  He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.  "Lord, You said that once I decided to follow You, You'd walk with me all the way.  But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.  I don't understand why when I needed You most You would leave me?"
The Lord replied, "My Precious, Precious Child,
I Love You and I Would Never Leave You.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

I am a Fantasy...I am a dream...
I am a place in your heart.
Let me drown in your ocean...
Die in your sea.

It's In The Valleys I Grow

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe.
It's then I have to remember,
That it's in the valley I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top,
And never experienced pain.
I would never appreciate God's love,
And would be living my life in vain.

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow.
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it's in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand,
Why things happen as they do.
But I am very sure of one thing...
My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing,
When I picture Christ on the cross.
He went through the valley of death...
His victory was satan's loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining,
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder,
That it's in the valleys  I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank You for the valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know.
The mountain tops are glorious...
But it's in the valleys that I grow.
