Friday Night Magic is a weekly tournament that is generally free and held in many comic shops and trading card shops. I went to DMN in Sungai Wang because they hold theirs on Sunday. The tournament was Standard constructed (7th, Odyssey, Torment, Judgment, Onslaught, Legions). Here's my deck (UG madness): (ok so i copied my heading from the last time)

4 Wild Mongrel
4 Basking Rootwalla
1 Merfolk Looter
1 Wonder
4 Counterspell
2 Circular Logic
3 Deep Analysis
1 Roar of the Wurm
2 Arrogant Wurm
4 AEther Burst
4 Careful Studey
4 Obsessive Search
3 Squirrel Nest
1 Krosan Colossus

Land:
1 City of Brass
11 Island
10 Forest

Sideboard:
3 Naturalize
3 Grip of Amnesia
2 Phantom Centaur
3 Envelop
2 Moment's Peace
2 Krosan Reclamation

First round: i dunno name (playing a mirari's wake deck)

Mirari's wake decks rely on Mirari's Wake to generate degenerate amounts of mana to do dastardly things with it. This particular deck used it to create a bunch of centaurs with Centaur Glade, or gain a bunch of life with Stream of Life and Life Burst and win with Test of Endurance. Unfortunately for him, I had AEther Burst for his centaurs, and Squirrel Nest so i could always bounce back from Wrath of God. In the second game, I sided in 3 Naturalize and took out 2 Careful Study and Krosan Colossus. We ran out of time so the second game was a draw.

result: 1-0-0 (match win-loss-draw)/1-0-1 (games win-loss-draw)

Round 2: dunno name (red green)

his deck was so fast, and had so much pain, i couldn't handle it. I don't know which card to put up, because the all were painful. I list some that I saw: Call of the Herd, Beast Attack, Reckless Charge. I lost both games really quickly.

result: 1-1-0/1-2-1

round 3: (didn't get his name) (playing mono-red burn with ensnaring bridge)

i lost the first game. he had ensnaring bridge out and no cards in hand and a patchwork gnomes in play. I had squirrel nest and was holding aether burst. he had 6 life, and i had 5 squirrels. i needed to make one more squirrel and aether burst his gnomes so he would have one card in hand, then i could kill him with 1 power things. unfortunately, he drew chain of plasma, then killed me with that and 3 barbarian rings (i had 8 life). the next game i sided out krosan colossus, roar of the wurm, 2 arrogant wurm, 3 deep analysis, 1 careful study and sided in 3 naturalize, 3 grip of amnesia, 2 phantom centaur. i won the second game because i circular logiced one ensnaring bridge and naturalized the other and attacked with phantom centaur. i won the third game because he was stuck with two molten influences in his hand (red counterspell), and i didn't cast anything for him to counter, so i could attack with wild mongrel through his ensnaring bridge

result: 2-1/3-3-1

round 4: vivian vasu (blue green madness)

He was playing a more acceptable version of blue-green, which i might have played but i don't have all the cards. i lost the first game thanks to him getting wonder into his graveyard first. in the second game, he was killing my creatures by taking control with callous oppressor and attacking with them and i had to block. but i won in the end. i had a squirrel nest and wild mongrel. i aether bursted his 2 oppressors. when he replayed them, i named hound. he proceeded to steal 1 squirrel which i made. he attacked with basking rootwalla, i made a squirrel so he stole it, and now that his oppressors were tapped out, i player arrogant wurm through the mongrel and blocked his rootwalla. i won the next turn thanks to his oppressors being tapped out. next game we ran out of time.

He wanted to roll a dice to choose a winner, but i didn't want the risk of losing. he was a highly ranked player and if i drew, i could steal some points off his ranking, so i preferred the guaranteed draw instead of the risk of losing. so it was a draw.

result: 2-1-1/4-4-2

I finished tenth and won nothing:(.
