House of Representatives- The House of Representatives' home page includes links to three
branches. Identify and/or contact representatives; browse and search historical
documents of
United States Senate -The United States Senate's home page
allows students to identify and/or contact senators; browse legislative
activities, committee notes, and senate history.
Kids Democracy
Project - This is an interactive site that allows students to see how
government affects their lives, the voting process, and becoming president for
a day.
The History Place
-A historical time line of the Civil War, with links to selected accounts and
documents.
Underground Railroad Adventure - This site allows the
visitor to take the role of the slave and make decisions on whether to escape
or stay. Find out what dangers there were while traveling on the
Underground Railroad.
Order
in the Court - This Web adventure puts students in the shoes of a colonial
justice of the peace. They can choose from three cases to try, and in each one
learn both the specifics of the case and the rules of colonial justice. At the
end, students make their verdict and then compare it to the actual verdict of
the real justices.

The First Thanksgiving - Offers a
time line from 1620 - 1621, giving photos and text of the Pilgrims first year.
Also shows life on board the Mayflower, life as a Pilgrim and the life of the Wamponoags. Also offers excellent teacher resources.
Colonial Kids - A simple explanation of Colonial Days
presented by 11 year olds. Pictures are small but good. Great
short videos of Colonial life.
Old Sturbridge Village - Click on village tour- shows very good
photos of buildings and life in the 18th century. Many activities for kids and
the section called For Kids offers step by step instructions to making colonial
crafts.
Abraham Lincoln - This site was created by a first grade
class. It shows photos and simple text of Abe Lincoln's Boyhood National
Memorial. Features a great photo gallery, an online quiz, animation of when
each state joined the union, a treasure hunt and links to more
States and Capitals - This site
has all the facts for each state. Lists state bird, flower, song, capital,
largest city, statehood date, outline map, etc. Also links to more info on
specific items.
Explorers
- Columbus - This site will
bring up any explorer. It shows facts about that explorer and more links to
explore about that person. It also offers geography crafts to go with the
explorer.
