~a true tale~

He could see the clouds roll across her face
A storm about to pour
He said he couldn't wait, couldn't stay,
Couldn't talk about it anymore
Couldn't take her, couldn't feel her,
Couldn't hold her nearer,
So what was he lingering for?

If he could only see
Those pools of stone staring back at me...

What did he see
When he looked at me?
Something made him close the door
Sit back down
And talk to me a little more...

Parting

In a bittersweet moment of endless intensity
He seized my heart again, so easily

My soul threatened to pour
As pools of warm stone stared back at me

An emotional embrace of sweet sorrow,
In harsh light,
A "goodnight",
Then our arms go slack...
A kiss,
I step aside so
He can go...

...Please baby, don't look back...
