134. Bully (Larry Clark, 2001) 3

133. Mean Girls (Mark Waters, 2004) 7

132. El Topo (Alejandro Jodorowsky, 1970) 4
[The Daliesque visuals are certainly a sight to see, but they're also a sight to see in The Holy Mountain, a film of Jodorowsky's I found to be far more compelling. With this though, I began to tune out midway.]
131. Jules and Jim (Franois Truffaut, 1962) 1
130. Calvaire (Fabrice du Welz, 2006) 9
[Equally sad and terrifying. Makes a greater statement about hopelessness, alienation, and loneliness than any other film I've seen recently that I can remember, much less, a horror movie.]
129. Flowers of Flesh and Blood (Hideshi Hino, 1985) 1
[Worthless, if we don't include the makeup effects. And I'm going to, but I'm sure there are far more impressive makeup effects elsewhere, ahead of their time or not. This though? This is just boring shit. Not really worth anybody's time.]
128. Eyes Wide Shut (Stanley Kubrick, 1999) 5
[Long and tiring-- whether that's a good thing or not, I'm not so sure. It's one of those films, that, when it's over, you're left utterly exhausted. It's a thorough examination of the mind of our main character, Dr. William... but alas, it's thorough to the point of aggrivation. I was intrigued the whole time, but unlike L'avventura, a smilliar film that explores human emotion, I never really enjoyed what I was seeing, and was really only challenged by its length.]
127. Dial M for Murder (Alfred Hitchcock, 1954) 2
126. The Lickerish Quartet (Radley Metzger, 1970) 10
125. The Cell (Tarsem Singh, 2000) 7
124. Batman Forever (Joel Schumacher, 1995) 6
123. Sympathy for the Devil (Jean-Luc Godard, 1968) 5
[Seems, on the outside, like most Godard films- overly self-indulgent, strange, and excessive. While its technically all of those things, its rather difficult to dismiss the ideas being presented because they're presented in such a way that makes them less extraordinary than anything else going on in the film. Godard uses The Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet recording sessions for the respective song as a backdrop to portray revolutionist groups of the sixties. The ideas incorporated are mostly hit-or-miss. However, what should be applauded is the sheer presentation and ambition therein, especially when dealing with a topic so specific, yet so general. Perhaps inevitably, the films loses steam in the second half, as it finds itself lingering too long on particular ideas, and begins to lose focus on The Rolling Stones. When all is said and done, it's a poorly balanced, but clearly ambitious film by a classic and imaginative director.]
