Air Ioniser
This is the circuit out of an Air Ioniser. Ionisers are supposed to increase the quality of the air in the area that they are being used in. This particular one is battery powered (12v). As you can see there is a transformer to increade the 12 volt input to around 700 volts. The other part of the cirucit is the cascade multiplier that increases the output of the transformer to around 5600 volts. The high voltages are required to produce the ions that emitted from the pins at the front of the cirucit. At the moment I am using the circuit as a high voltage power supply. I bought the ioniser from the shop at the London science museum for 5 quid. Definitley worth it!
