Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith - 2005 (PG-13) Actors: Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Samuel L. Jackson Director: George Lucas Reviewed: 20 May 2004 So. It has finally happened. The Star Wars saga is now complete. I was never a huge Star Wars freak, but I liked it. The original trilogy was sweet, but the prequels sucked. No longer. I, being the intrepid explorer I am, went to the midnight premiere of Sith at my theatre. It was worth it, despite having school the next morning. I went to see it because of the spectacular lightsaber battles; in this aspect, Sith does not disappoint. It is the most visually impressive of the series, but we are still forced to suffer through the terrible love dialogues. "You're breaking my heart!" Please. It was made up for by Vader's classic "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" line at the end. The acting sucks, so what, right? Right. The movie is so action packed the dialogue won't even matter. You are pelted with fight after fight, some higlights being (SPOILERS): -Anakin versus Count Dooku. -R2D2 versus some punk droids. -Obi Wan versus General Grievous. -Mace Windu versus Chancellor Palpatine. -Anakin versus Jedi. -Yoda versus Chancellor Palpatine. -Anakin versus Obi Wan. The last one on that list, I must say, is one of the best swordfights ever seen onscreen. It is both emotionally and visually impacting, as you watch the fate of the Jedi being fought for over the menacing lava landscape. The movie also has more humor in it than in the other films, however, once the movie takes a dark turn halfway though it never returns. The wookie battle is disappointingly short, and there is an awkward childbirth scene. The scenes where Anakin invades the Jedi temple and slaughters everyone (even the lil' children) are chilling. His shift to the dark side is excellent. Even though the average viewer will not be able to experience all the Vader costumes, Fett costumes, lightsabers in the theatre, and the dude in the wookie suit next to me, they should still see the movie. It is, in my view, justification for the whole prequel trilogy. And it is an amazing ride. SCORE: 8/10 GOOD QUOTE -Twisted by the dark side young Skywalker has become. -Every single Jedi is now an enemy of the Republic. BAD QUOTE -Anakin, you're breaking my heart!
