Napoleon Dynamite - 2004 (PG) Actors: Jon Heder, Jon Gries, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez Director: Jared Hess Reviewed: 17 May 2005 Well, I'll go out on a limb and say I thought this movie was terrible. Don't kill me! I realize that this movie was almost universally liked, and I am in the minority when I say I severely disliked it. But c'mon, it has no plot, the guy's voice is annoying, all the people are completely out of touch with everything, and it's not that hard to grow a mustache. It was slow, and all the dumb things that people quote start to grind on my nerves. "You need better bo staff skills. Tee hee hee!" *loads gun* Seriously though, this movie was BORING. He talks monotone. He talks monotone some more. He hits his brother. He gets hit by a steak. He dances. The end. I really have no idea why this is liked so much. Everyone says stupid things sometimes; I 'spose if you made all these quotes into a film this would be the result. Stupid things sell (see America's Funniest Home Videos, Jackass). I will admit I like the dancing scene, just because the song is so catchy. The dance was worth 10 points. The rest of the movie was worth -6. See it if you must, but come complaining when you love it. I'm not listening. SCORE: 4/10 GOOD QUOTE -Might as well do somethin' while you're doing nothin'. -My woman I'm taking to the dance. BAD QUOTE -It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.
