| For all you Americans who may be unfamiliar with the travesty that is our royal family today's discussion may be a little hard to follow. As you know yesterday I spoke about Steve Austin and cybernetics, today I would lie to talk about someone who is made of cybernetics... Well almost. Yes that's right readers, I speak of none other than the Queen Mother herself! The queen mother is a strange anomaly, loved by literally a few she is the "old dear" of England, in that she represents all the other senile old women of the country but she doesn't have to live off a tiny pension and doesn't get insulted by such sweet gestures as a free TV license! I have however learnt a fact about the queen mother today that gives me some small joy and to a degree validates her very existence on this earth, it's a strange bit of trivia, but worth it. There is a Military regiment called the London Scots. it's a territorial regiment, that's reserves for those non English out there. The queen mother is it's patron Royal... And therefore honorary Colonel! Now I know this may not seem amazing to you but I have a vivid imagination, I can just see the war torn battlefield, the shells raining down, the ragged unit of troops charging gloriously down a hillside led, in full colonels uniform, sabre waved high, by the Queen Mother! What a marvellous image, I'm sorry if I seem weird, I blame my parents. Tom |
