WATER CHLORINATION BY THE ELECTROCHEMICAL SYSTEM HLOROGEN

ADVANTAGES OF HLOROGEN

Theoretical ratio NaCl/NaClO is 2.

The best ratio of the systems designed by others is 3, while our system HLOROGEN provides ratio 2.2 (2.2 kg of NaCl for production of 1 kg NaClO). This means that by using our system HLOROGEN 1B, which produces 1 kg of equivalent chlorine for 1 h (instead of the other system of the same capacity), one saves 7.000 kg of NaCl for one year of the system opeartion.

BASIC COMPONENTS OF THE HLOROGEN SYSTEM:

1. Salt saturator
2. Hypochlorite generator (electrolyzer)
3. Sodium hypochlorite storage tank
4. Water softener
5. Rectifier with the control panel
6. Brine and dozing pump

ADVANTAGE OF THE SYSTEM HLOROGEN OVER THE EXISTING SYSTEMS

1.Production of hypochlorite on the site of the chlorinating
2. Removal of ammonia compo-unds from water
3. Ecological technology
4. Completely automatized operation

5.There is no formation of three-halo-methane's
6. Low cost of exploitation
7. Unnecessity of trained workers for handling
8. Possibility of storage of salt for a long time of exploitation (0.5 to 1 year).

2. HLOROGEN system for on-site production of sodium hypochlorite by
electrolysis of diluted chloride solutions. This system is suitable for
treatment of waste water and expecially for disinfection of drinking
(potable) water instead of commercial treatment with gasous chlorine.
The mean features of HLOROGEN system:
a) electrolyte - inlet -30g/l NaCl
b) electrolyte - outlet 12g/l active chlorine (as hypochlorite) + 10.5 g/l NaCl
c) current density - j=0.1 A/cm2.
d) temperature of electrolyte -5 - 350C
e) degree of conversion 2.5 kg NaCl/1kg of active chlorine,
f) current efficiency -58%
