You might also have sought out gun owners, CCW permittees who also used the park, but were not there at the time. You could have interviewed my wife who carries a Glock 23 with her when she uses the North Mountain Parks. Clearly a more interesting interview than some random person you happen upon.
For an interesting twist, you could have interviewed criminals who would be the real benficiaries of state-wide park bans. I am sure they would love to have the cities create a safe working environment for them. You could have done this, but it would not have fit your template. Boring, cookie-cutter journalism is all you have to offer.
