Still not convinced these glasses are "real"? Check out my Johnny Depp's Glasses study.
Apology: I was asked in an e-mail to find out the make/model of Johnny's glasses, but I've lost the inquirer's e-mail address. I'm so sorry. I hope you drop by here, because I found it, they are "Freeway" by Shuron.
The really good news is that Johnny is one of us, he's an OO, and he collects glasses. It doesn't get any better than that. Johnny has worn glasses in a number of his movies.
 In "Ninth Gate" he wore strong minus glasses for character realism at Roman Polanski's insistence. Apparently Johnny protested that he couldn't see anything, but he wore them as requested anyway. A plethora of screenshots from this movie are available at Depp Impact and also at Moments of Inspiration. Despite an unflattering hairstyle for this character I am not surprisingly perhaps rather partial to some of these shots. I'll put some of my own up here shortly.
