Ron Lackey, EdD
Occupation: Educator & Businessman My background includes a lifelong career in education, having served as a teacher, counselor, psychologist, administrator, university professor, state mediator, and currently as an education consultant. I have a Doctorate (PhD) in Educational Psychology and a Master's in Counseling. I have established a network of parents and professionals in Southern California. It assists parents and school districts in the educational placement of, and services for, students. My motivation to become a trustee relates to my support of President George W. Bush's "No Child Left Behind" program. As such, I endorse President Bush's statement, "If you lower expectations, if you lower the bar...you'll prevent learning. If you raise expectations, if you raise the bar...you'll promote learning." With a commitment to being accessible to parents and employees, my counseling and mediation background will be helpful in matters related to effective communication. I demonstrate leadership in my role as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors of my Community Association. Functioning in the capacity of the Board's Ombudsman, I regularly attend School Board and City Council meetings. Being active also in community affairs, I participate in the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce and as Church Lector and Lay Minister. |
