Oasis are basically a load of violent, arrogant wankers from Mancester, but they make pretty cool music.  In my opinion one of the greatest groups of the 90s (not that there was a huge amount of competition for the title), Oasis have been through a number of drummers basists and lead guitarists, but Liam and Noel Gallager have stuck it out, and seem as strong as ever, having sold out a recent concert in record time (3 gigs in 5 minutes or something,I wasnt really listening.)  They use strings in their songs sometimes, which is the best idea anyone has ever had.  Guitar, drums, bass and strings, though quite familiar, just are one of the most incredible sounds in the history of music, and they did it before the verve.  They write some fantastic music, and though they probably should hav been jailed years ago for grevious bodily harm, house burgulary, drug offences, and generally being yobs, they do continue to rock the world, at large, and are very talented.
     Three cheers to Oasis.

    Pink Flyod.
Listed in my music tech text book as both prog and psychodelic rock, Pink Floyd are, well, interesting.  I know pretty much nothing about them, except the Wall was far to expensive, even though my got it for me for my birthday.  I have been meaning to buy "Dark side of the Moon," but sort of, well, never got round to it.
But The Wall is pretty cool.
We dont need no education, we dont need no thought control
     Etc etc.
Yeah, rocking really.  One of them featured on the Simpsons, like every great rocker, but I didn't get it at all.  That's just my stupidity
    John Lennon.
John Lennon thought he was a genius, and he probably was.  He wrote or co wrote some of the most important songs of the 20th century, and though he did some bazarre things in his later years, he also did some pretty cool, insiteful, and beautiful things.  He wrote Imagine, which is probably one of the best songs ever written, as well as the beautiful jelous guy, and many others.
This is in memory of John Lennon.

    Aerosmith.
Though image wise Aerosmith are basically a rip-off of the the stones, they have written some pretty kool music, and are rather kool themselves.  Joe Perry is a fantastic guitarist, and Steven Tyler is just fantastic.  They've written some fantastic music including Pink, walk this way and dream on.  They also performed the them tune to armageddon, though apparently they didnt write it.  O well, you cant have everything.

    Iggy Pop
Though basically an idiot who doesnt like tops and went on top of the pops in see through trousers, recently, which was less than desirable, Iggy Pop is a bit of a rocker.  He does still seem to have the illusive "it" which nearly all aging rockers feel they once had and wish they could rediscover.  Though a pretty bad musician he did help invent punk or atleast laid its foundations, and he also cowrote china girl, and another song I know because of Bowie, called Bang Bang, which is pretty cool, though from the "never let me down" album.
Apparently he lives in the middle of nowhere avoiding the fame and fortune he created for himself..
Top 20  rockers!
