The Eno Trilogy
Sometimes known as the Berlin Trilogy.
Low, Heroes and Lodger. They were all supposed to have been recorded in Berlin. One was recorded in Switzerland. Cant remember which one, but it wasn't Heroes. They were recorded between 1977 and 1979, with the help of Roxy Music's Brian Eno, playing synthesisers etc and cowriting some music.

One of Bowie's best known songs come from this Era. Of course I'm talking about "Heroes," it's very popular in adverts. This is because it is so simple and effective. I love the violin part, even if it's synthsised, and even if it is repeated over and over again, it's just really cool. And the lyrics are brilliant. "I will be King you will be Queen." "We could be heroes just for one day." Its brilliant. "I remember, standing by the wall, and the guns shot above our heads, and we kissed as though nothing could fall" How romantic and unbowieish

This was probably Bowie's most sort of self certain period. Artistic some would call it. Some would say it was full of a lot of nonsense. I like nonsence though (as you can tell from all the crap I keep saying) and this is very musically talented nonsense. My Cd collection is getting more and more complete, as I now own all three of these albums! Yippee! Thank God for rich Uncles who remeber their neices birthdays

Abi likes Low I think. Charlotte knows alot more about everything, so go to her site, but she says that she's going off Bowie a bit, so she's got pages dedicated to Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and stuff, and lots of odd vague thoughts, and ask her to write stuff about them. Not that anyone will read this and do that.

Why do I have all these stupid pictures up? I have no idea. i think I ran out of things to say. But they are quite amusing, no? Im not really into these albums as much as Im sure I should be. I got Lodger for my birthday in November, and Low for Christmas, both from my fantastic and rich uncle Tony, who teased me constantly about how I have ruined his street cred by making him buy them. Men! When will they learn that no one cares?
Anyway, thank you uncle tony for sacrificing your 38 year old street cred for your humble neice. I played violin at your wedding, to the amusment of various aging relatives, who then had something to talk about, and didnt cause a fight! Charlotte loves Lodger. Most people dont.
