So Earthling is a really good album, though some say that all the songs sound the same. I don't agree. Its electronic music, which I usually hate, but for some inexplicable! reason I love this album. It lacks any form of energy in the singing, which makes a vast contrast with the energy filled live versions I have on CD from Bowie at the Beeb 2000. Earthling features the famous Union Jack coat, which my mate Choz put in her textiles coursework under "Research." She's the one whos more obsessed than me. I think it is mainly for the American market, because it seems to be selling his amazing Britishness, which doesnt really make sense when he's lived in America since the 70s. It features the song "I'm afraid of Americans," which started out life as "Dummy." The original lyrics were "Dummy's an American" etc. Quite insulting, sort of. It fullfills the English view of the Yanks, our name for all Americans i.e. kinda brainless with huge self opinions. It's not our fault; the only ones we meet are strange looking fat middle aged women asking the way to Big Ben, wearing tracksuits, ponchos and tinted glasses, when we are standing outside the tube station opposite. Well they have strange views of us to. Everyone has wierd views of each others countries. I went on holiday to Cape Cod once and loved it. The people were really nice and it only rained once. The portions were huge though. And they called crisps chips, and chips fries. Weird. (Any Americans out there, do not take offence, you cannot paint a whole nation the same colour!) Anyway, thats not important. Bowie is important. I love the song Dead man Walking. I dont know why, I think it's something to do with how he sings angels, cos I love "I'm derranged" on outside in the same way. I also love seven years in Tibet. It does have a huge amount of energy in it somewhere

Although this isn't like most of David's looks, it is actually quite good for him. Its the one that I knew him for before I started listening to his music, and he actually looks a bit like my violin teacher, who is a woman, but a masculine one. But that's cool, and I am a child of the 90s. I dont know if he wants to look like my violin teacher. Her hair colour changes more often than Mr Bowie changes socks I should think. Well atleast he doesnt have her wonderful centimeter thick pony tail really (dont ask)

The picture above left was taken at Top of the Pops. I wouldn't want to be whoever he's looking at, its terrifying. Nex to it is a picture of him being honored in some way or other, and above right is a picture that was for promoting Earthling. He does look a bit of a git doesn't he? Well he is one, though a very talented one, but most girls end up thinking that about their idols don't they?

Whatever anyone says, I am the little wonder! Maybe, depending on what he thinks the song is about. If it is positive, then yes I am. I dont care if I've never met the bloke, he can still write songs about me if he feels so inclined. So long as they're nice, unsarcastic, friendly, kind, positive songs!
