The Beatles
In honour of Vicky - to keep her happy And in Memory of George Harrison and John Lennon..
So what do I know about the Beatles. Not a lot. Well Vicky's told me a huge amount actually, and I have one of those annoying sorts of memories that remember everything I don't need to know and forget everything else. So, the Beatles were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Rongo Starr and George Harrison, (who everyone forgets) (well he should have had a strange name like Ringo!) The Beatles ruled the world for most of the sixties. They got something like 29 UK no 1s which have all been released on CD recently, and that's not including all the ones they had seperately. Something by the Beatles was made no 2 best no 1 ever, if that makes sense. No 1 was Imagine. I think the top 3 were all as good as each other really, there was Bohemian Rapsody to.

I think that the Beatles are over rated. That does not mean that they aren't good, but the music didn't get to you like Bowie does, or even like the Who does and they were around at the same time. Later John Lennon was very good, like Imagine and Jealous Guy. I asked Vicky to write for me, and she said "Paul is gorgeous that's all you need to know." Then I said that I would do the same for her. Then I admitted I wouldn't so your stuck with me. So why are the Beatles so looked up to? They were sort of the beginnig of pop, and i suppose they wrote some nice songs. I suppose once you get a status like that there's not much you can do wrong. I like I am the Walrus. Don't know why, it's just cool. I don't like some of the early stuff, its boring, like very early Bowie. The 60s were boring musicwise, cept for The Who and the Stones and Space Oddity. Not the album, just the single. The 60s were about drugs more than anything, and the Beatles were good at that. I of course don't remember the 60s, but for some strange reason known only to her my mum missed them. She was studying apparently. Do we believe her?
Vicky's favourite Beatle is Paul McCartney, who she decided that she was going to marry not long ago. Mmmm that lasted a long time. Anyway, Vicky has told me off for writing the above, so I thought I should make some things that she has told me to write clear:
1) If it weren't for the Beatles boys/men would not be able to have long hair, something for which Chozza is truely grateful. 2) The Beatles were original, and without them no populay music would be looked upon as good, and only classicle composeres would be respected. 3) The Beatles made lots of money, not just for themselves, but for the Liverpool and London tourist industry, merchants, and even their fans, now some original records can sell for large sums of money. 4) they helped us see that music can bwe any style, and not uniformed 5) as soon as the 60's ended everything began to become the same...in the charts anyway 6)and the 60's weren't borin 7)grrr yes those were her exact words.
Anyway there arent a huge number of Beatles pix available on the net, so these are just a few I nicked of Vicky's site. Having said all I have aobut the Beatles, I have to admit that I will probably try to arrange one of their songs for my music technology coursework. I don't have to they just write such nice simple songs that you can manipulate in anyway you wish. It has to involve a key change and that's about all the restriction we have. I might do Yesterday, nice and simple yet quite beautiful. Could do a lot with Yesterday I think. Is that illegal? I dunno, dont care really, is music tech homework. Merlyn can pay the legal fees if he lets me do it Update - hah I didnt I arranged Bridge Over troubled water by Paul Simon instead! Ha! : ) ok, my compluter is gettin very slow now, which is very annoying so im going to leave it here and continue another day.
