Thank you for choosing El Duende Pits.
The following will give you an idea on what we breed and how we take care of our dogs. If you have further questions then I encourage you to call or send an E-mail and I will get back to you a.s.a.p. All inquiries are welcome.
We do not breed for size, we try to stay within the ADBA and UKC standards. This means our dogs are generally between 35-65 lbs. Occasionaly we will have larger APBTs depending on the bloodline but prefer to stay under 80 lbs. We believe this is best for the breed as increasing size and weight puts undue stress on the joints and cardiovascular system, thus increasing the risk of hip and elbow dysplasia, and heart problems. We keep all our dogs lean and fit so the weights stated on their page are their actual weights. We do not believe in "Bigger is Better". We do not breed all white, blue, or merle colored dogs or dogs with blue eyes as each of the above tend to have genetic problems associated with them. We make sure we do not breed dogs with any type of health problems. We also do not breed American Staffordshire Terriers or APBT/Amstaff crosses. All our dogs are purebred American Pit Bull Terriers.
All our dogs are ADBA registered and some UKC or AADR registered. We have both gamebred and show/working bred APBTs that come from Camelot's the Duke, Martin Caesar, and Sarona line all going back to the Old Family Reds. Our gamebred dogs come from Reddevil, Redboy, Wilder/Hemphill, Sarona, and Jeep/Honeybunch/Nigerino lines.
All our dogs are fed a high quality dog food and are exercised daily. The kennels/yards are cleaned and disinfected twice a day. All dogs/puppies are kept current on their vaccinations. Our dog are a part of our family and although we cannot keep them all inside we do rotate their inside time daily. We are currently training in weight pulling and obediance and others are being shown in conformation, in the future we plan to get involved with Schutzhund also. |
