September 11-13, 2003 Well as far as patriotism goes, my September 11 post is sub par. Drake and I took off down to Provo to say goodbye to our friend Suekyung. She got accepted to a fashion design school in California and is leaving Utah for the wiles of West Hollywood. It was choo-suk (Korean Thanksgiving) from wednesday through friday, so our dining at the Korean restaurant coincided with that quite nicely. We got to eat some traditional choo-suk food called song-pyun. Drake and I got the gross one with bean paste in it, but Sue seemed to enjoy hers, that had brown sugar and nuts inside. We went and hung out with Kyle and Sam before we came back and helped Kyle order his computer. Friday after work and school Jessica and I met for lunch before I had to head off to the group home. The rest of my weekend disappeared into the group home. I am glad everyone is having fun playing with the comments on my site. I only wish I could play more, but such is life with no day off. I could use a day off from life I think

September 9 and 10, 2003 First of all a happy birthday to Adam! I hope you dream of large women or something befitting of a birthday man. I turned in my graduation application today. It felt so good to pay the money and be rid of that thing at last. I took this picture when Sloan, Hang and I were walking back to my car on saturday. The horse had a little baggy to catch the feces as it walked and I thought it was the most clever thing. I named it the Ddongtoo in Korean (A combination of Ddong (crap) and Bongtoo (bag) and a pun that even Jared Peterson could be proud of.) If I could have a sack to catch and be able to get away with not wearing pants I would do it. The idea of a diaper is just disgusting... all the smearing and rubbing, but a bag and the open air between my legs... oh yes. If only I could have attained my childhood dream of becoming a workhorse, I could do it now with no fear of punishment or scorn.

September 7 and 8, 2003 The first week of football is officially at a close. If you want to see the results of Kyle's and my head to head competition all you have to do is visit the new "Football Pick Competition" link at the top of the page. I was thinking about doing a competition among the friends for kicks. I know Kyle and Tyler had expressed some interest and I assumed Jared would be interested too. If anyone else is I am going to post a comment link on the football page so you can put your picks for the next week in and I will keep track of them. Starting from week two we will also have a running total of points, number of weeks won and any other ideas people have to suggest.

September 6, 2003 I got home really late from Kyle's hosue last night and was sleeping peacefully when my mom woke me up at 7 in the morning. She said Sunhang was on the phone, which I was willing to understand since the time in Korea would have been different. It however turned out to be Hang, who live in Utah and has no excuse for calling someone that early on a saturday. I managed to get back to bed only to be woken up again an hour later with a phone call from work. They apparently scheduled me for a two hour shift that morning and I was a half an hour late. Well since it would have taken me a half an hour to get there and a half hour back for what would then be an hour shift I told them I wasn't going in. I then was unable to get back to sleep and started occupying my time getting ready to go meet Sloan, Haeahn, and Hang in Salt Lake for our Samkyupsal party. We met at temple square and walked up to C street where Haeahn is living now. It was a little bit of a hike, but once we started eating the samkyupsal I didn't care. It was by far one of the best Korean meals I have ever eaten in America. From the right cut of meat down to the kirumjang and coke, we got it just about perfect. We sat and talked for a while and then we left Haeahn and went to the Korean market to pick up some food. After that we went our seperate ways and I came home. I missed the family reunion so I sat around for an hour or so and headed to Kyle's house to watch football with the boys. Sure it's only college football... and sure all the Utah team's saw fit to embarrass themselves in all aspects of the game excluding the third quarter... but it beats not watching football at all, no? The NFL gets fully underway today (no one really likes the Redskins or the Jets, so thursday doesn't really count.) Kyle and I made our picks for the week this last thursday. I will post the results sometime after tomorrow's game, but already we have been wrong on quite a bit. Honestly though, who would have bet on the Vikings winning at Green Bay? Not me... not in a thousand years.

September 5, 2003 Kyle had surgery on his knee this last thursday and so we have been spending some time with him giving him TLC and all other things required to make a full recovery. Last night that included making him ride the mart-cart at the new "Super" Walmart, pretending to buy movies with the Olsen Twins and renting a movie that shows some hot Mexican flesh (Salma Hayek, Desperado.) As if the look on his face wasn't enough indication, our friend Kyle is on the way to recovery in record time.
