| May 30, 2003 I Last night I went to a festival Sungtaek was participating in to go to his fund raiser booth and to see a Korean singer, "Psy." I went with Juryun and after we got there she called some of her friends to come. Among them was a guy named Jiyong. He was really cool. I don't like very many Korean guys, but he was just about the coolest person I have ever met. It was raining so bad so we bailed on seeing "Psy" and went to a karaoke place instead. It was pretty fun. I realized I suck pretty bad at singing. The only thing I did a half way decent job on was "Faith" by Limp Bizkit. Must be the rage in me begging to be let out. Then we went to a cafe and had drinks. I drank a cherryade. Which I guess is cherry lemonade and was really good. The pics of the kid eating watermelon are the kids in one of my wednesday-thursday classes. They are probably my favorite class because the boys aren't that obnoxious and they like to learn and the one little girl is sooooooo cute. The other three girls are in my tuesday class. They were the only ones out of 15 students that would let me take their picture. Talk about lame eh? Anyway the honeymoon stage has worn off. It is starting to feel like normal life. Except for the incredibly good food all the time, and none of my friends to mess around with. I'm pretty bored tonight. I might actually go to bed early. |

| May 29, 2003 I went out to eat last night with my boss and a couple of my co-workers. My boss is the one in the green on the far right. The other english teacher, Ann is the one sitting right next to her using the phone. The one with glasses next to Ann is Sungkyoung, she is a Korean that teaches Chinese. The one next to me is YoonLaoshu, (or however you say teacher in Chinese and her last name is Yoon) and is a Chinese lady who teaches Chinese. We had a dish called DolsutJanggol. It was pretty good. It was pretty elaborate and had lots of different courses to it. There are several kinds of Korean food that are pretty complex and have a specific way they need to be eaten. I found out last nigh,t when I tried to eat it a different way, that the way you eat it does have an effect on the taste. We talked about going to a norae bang, but the Chinese teacher had to go home to her husband. It was a pretty good time. The picture at the bottom is some yangnyum tongdalk I ordered the other day. It had been like 4 days since I ordered last, so it tasted even better. I talked with Adam, Jeff, Tyler, and Kyle yesterday on messenger too. That was pretty cool to see what's going on with everyone. Don't hesitate to drop me a line and post what's going on. I am probably more interested in what you're doing than you are in what I am doing. Try to post again soon sometime. Until then hrrrrrrmmmmmpppppppphhhhhh out! |
