II just thought I would write a quick note and let everyone know that I finally have a job.  I start training at a home for adolescents with developmental and behavioral problems tomorrow (and to all those who want to make some comment about the blind leading the blind I know where you live.)  So now if I can only get CPR certified, trained in physical restraint, pass the driver's test, pass a TB test, pass the background examination, get favorable reviews from my references, memorize all the client's medication, get a food handler's permit and a whole slew of other requiremtents I will be on my way to becoming a full fledged employee for "Future Through Choices."  For my trouble, I will also be making less than I have since I was 16.  Got to hand it to the conservative states offering lots of incentives for individuals to choose occupations that help their fellow man.  I also went to the Bombay house tonight and ate some Indian food with Jeff.  It was pretty good as always.  I had chicken curry with some nann.  I ordered it hot, but they must have underestimated me or not understood me because it was mild at best.  Here's to Jeff for offering me the right incentive to go!

It's been a pretty slow weekend.  Not that I entirely mind.  I had time to read a new book called "The Chosen,"by Chaim Potok.  It and I imagine he are all about being Jewish.  I don't much about the Jews, but this book had a lot of interesting information mixed in with it's fictional story of two young Jewish boys.  The most interesting concept from it was raising your children in silence.  I had never really thought about how to raise children and I guess there are a variety of approaches, but this was a concept I have never heard.  If you want to know what they say about it you should read it I guess because I will fail to convey the full impact of it ultimately.  Tonight Kyle, Sam and I went to the rope swing near Kyle's house.  We swung out into the water for a little bit.  I was done after my first encounter because I swallowed something nasty.  If you need more proof the water was nasty just check out Sammy's beard. All that crap from just swimming back to shore (Llew if you read this I hope you've already eaten.)  Some high school kids showed up in the end, none of the girls was really exceptional except for the girl in teal (who stalker/pedofile Joel set up for a picture.)  We're only a few years older so I guess it isn't that big a deal, but somehow I always feel so guilty.  In the end it doesn't matter anyway I guess since none of us really worked up the nerve or even had the desire to talk to her anyway.  I am exhausted... so I am gonna get some sleep.  So just imagine there is a couple cynical or sarcastic comments that made you laugh uncontrollably and save me the trouble of having to think of them (and more than likely fail trying.)

P.S. I saw Bo Jackson in the celebrity game of all-star week.  Who knew he was still alive?

If you live in Utah, you probably noticed it smells like smoke all the time lately.  I took a picture of the mountain that is burning.  It was a day I was thankful I didn't live in a million dollar home in the foothills.  I have never been more grateful to live on "the wrong side" of two sets of railroad tracks and a freeway that means that fire will never get near my home.  Sucks to be rich! (or crazy since it turns out the guy who started it just wanted a place to live so he did it to go to jail.)  In honor of the BBQ on the hills we held a little BBQ of our own at my house.  We tried to make it as Asian an affair as we possibly could by eating strictly Asian food and making ridiculously stupid Asian gestures in our photos.  Who do you think pulled it off the best? Sloan and I had planned to eat Samkyup-sal at my house on his grill, and some of our attempts at Korean food have been less than succesful in the past.  This, however, was not one of those times.  I am pleased to announce Samkyup-sal turned out exactly as it is supposed to and everyone loved it.  We also made Dduk-Poki while we waited for Sloan to arrive.  It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but it only cost me 2 bucks so who can complain eh? Sloan and I then spent several hours copying cd's of each other's Korean music and videos.  It was a fun little night.  I'm not sure if anyone else appreciated it, but I was glad do something a little out of the norm.  We talked about it and I think we are going to have more Samkyup-sal BBQ parties in the future.  Today almost made me forget about the fact that I still don't have a job or even a real life.  I sit in my underwear most of the time and play on my computer waiting for something to happen to me. (I should really get a picture of that... my counter would go through the roof, no?)
