Romans
Chapter 8, verse 18:
Paul says, for I recken that the sufferings of this present
time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall
be revealed in us.
Second Corinthians chapter 4 verse 16 through 18:
For which cause we think not. But though our outward man perish
yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction
which is but for a moment, work it for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory. Which we look not at the things
which are seen but at the things which are not seen. For the
things which are seen are temporal. But the things which are
not seen are eternal. Amen!
Tonight
I want to make a statement but in a question saying What's Goin'
On! That's our message for tonight, What's Going On!
We see today, and the Lord laid this on my heart really to talk
to growing Christians not just young people because you can
be older and yet not mature in the Lord. But to growing Christians
and many of the people of the Church. They, many of our youth
today they are getting older in life. No longer sixteen and
eighteen years old. Your growing up in your twenties now. I
was praying about the Church. And from what I can remember of
the membership here, I see that many of the young women and
young men now are no longer eighteen and nineteen years old
but they are moving up in those twentieth years. And some are
getting into the young adult years where they are in the early
thirties. They're getting older and many of you are beginning
to move out of your homes and getting your own apartments. And
some of you are going to college. And some of you are getting
married or anticipating marriage. But now we face the challenge
of living this Christian walk according to the level of knowledge
we now have. Many of us are going through things past the elementary
stages of our Christian walk. Some of you have been saved now
for five or six or ten years. And you have shouted, fell out
and you have done some of everything. And now we're getting
past the elementary stages of every time a song go, we're on
the floor or every time a good preacher comes in and whirl,
we're not running to the alter to get in the prayer line. Now
we're getting more seasoned. And now we're saying, Lord I'm
going to another level in my walk with God. So we're out of
those elementary stages and some of us are dealing with life.
The reality of life. And trying to find out how to filter what
I've learned in Church in my day to day living and my day to
day circumstances. Because it's one thing to shout in here and
it's another thing where your out there in work. And you get
somebody getting on your nerves. So now, but the thing what
is happening now in many of our lives is God is making us, making
his Church and he wants you to know tonight that it's not going
to come through this fast get quick blessing. It's not coming.
You just come up to the Altar and say I'm believing and I'm
receiving and that's it. I'm going to blab it and grab it. It's
not going to work like that. You can name it and claim it all
you want. Something's your going to have to go through. And
we ought to face reality and yes we claim things by faith and
we believe those things that are not as though they were, but
yet something's your going to have to walk through.
We're not, we don't want to be confused but some things are
going to come through suffering. Some things are going to come
through tears. Why? Because God wants you to go through things
so the experience can settle down in your spirit. And it will
be a part of you and a part of your testimony. Now when somebody
just pass you a miracle hundred dollar or two hundred dollars.
You say O.K. Praise the Lord, thank you Jesus. But when you
had to work over time for it. Had not go to Mickey D's, not
go buy this and now you got two hundred dollars. You say oh,
I worked for this thing.
