For of Such is the Kingdom of God
October 7, 2003 --

For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors. And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.

Alma 34:32-33

And here I felt bad last time I updated, because two weeks had passed...Now that a month has gone by, there is a lot to tell about. Well, maybe not -- but at least I have made some decisions about where my life is going right now.

I did decide to take a quarter off from school, as I plan how to best pursue my business degree (I'm almost decided on the switch in majors). During that time, I'll also be working on putting up the web page my friend and I need in order to start the small business we've been working on.

Perhaps most important, I now have time to think about my spiritual life, and what I need to be doing in order to work toward the stature I would like to achieve. Following General Conference this past weekend, I have seen that while I cannot expect to start over and go back to where I was when I came home, I can and must make the choice to reorder my life starting from where I am. My priorities need to be different. There needs to be a greater emphasis on my family and on being a good example of righteous living. I can also see that I may very well be running out of time to help my family the way that I had originally intended to.

I am grateful, however, for the principles of repentence and progression, and the chance they give me to make such changes in my life at any time, as long as I am willing to rely on the Lord to do it.

P.S. I finally got around to posting those pictures of the rafting trip I went on. While I haven't been able to design a page to present them the way that I wanted to, I've still put them up so you can see them: http://photos.yahoo.com/elder_dozark
